Hi,

I have bought a second hand Yaris 2007 and I wanted to ask: My Yaris have an electronic gear and I park it on a declined road- there is no Parking option in this gear, so I put the gear on N and use the hand brake- is it ok?
Should I put it on R or E?

Thx

photo would help , but normal people put it in P for Park, this is the
position that will also allow you to turn the car on.

So, your gear has E, R, and N? And no P? Never heard of those.

if it is a manumatic, then yes, you put it in neutral and just use the handbrake, or im prety sure you can just keep it in E.

And heated seats! Don't look like any Yaris I've seen.

Yeah, they allways get all the good stuff in the EU and in this case,Isreal, before we do in the states.

Toyota is smart enough to shake out the bugs before importing stuff into the US. They aren't sued overseas like they would be here.

Oooh tiptronic. I wish i had that. I am not sure but i would say M would make your car in first gear. So if the car is parked with the nose at the top of the incline that would be it otherwise R if its park opposite. Kinda like how you would put a manual transmission in first or reverse depending on how its parked. And of course also put ont he parking brake for extra insurance.

Thanks all for the good advices.
The Multimode gear is different from Tiptronic, the main issue is knowing when to release the gas (when it shifts).
I like driving it but there are some who find it a bit complicated. I think that you need to treat the multimode gear as an advanced manual gear and not advanced automatic gear- this way you won't be disappointed.

Parking- There is no P... If I put it on E or R it moves so I have to use the handbrake. What I do is to turn the wheels when I park in a way it won't roll down.
