I'm kind of confused. I was looking up other reviews of the TRD rear sway bar and it took me to some scion forum, where they have a section of parts that users can review. Well alot of people were reviewing the TRD rear sway bar and a few of them were talking about a street or race setting. Kind of confused because I thought the one for the Yaris is the same as the one on the Scions, but I thought there is only one setting...installing the bar on the car.
Anyone know what this "street and race" setting stuff is about.
Here's the link to the reviews incase it may be of some help.

Well after looking at a few pics of their model specific bar, I'm gonna have to raise the B.S. flag. The one poster i saw who reviewed a "race:" setting seems to not know he is talking about. A swaybar is considered fixed if it has only one setting. It is considered "adjustible" if it has more than one setting, usually viewed by multiple drilled holes on the sides. Some competition bars are soo stiff that they are reccomended for cars with R-comps only, and definitely not for streetability.
Hope that helped you.

TRD rear sway bar has no adjustability. So, no "race" or "street" setting.
You are correct OP.

I was going to say, how on earth do you get two settings out of something that is pre-drilled with one specific way to put it on lol. Thanks for the reassurance though, who knows anything is possible and I could have been completely wrong.

That's right.
They must be talking about the TRD sway bar for the Scion TC, which indeed is adjustable.

It's only 4 bolts and a solid bar. No adjustment, just better handling. I love mine !!

The only true race setting is your left foot.

Now when I go back over the comments from some of the folks on that site, it does seem like the few talking about "street or race" settings, are in fact referring as the application being a Scion TC. Is there any specific reason that car gets a sway bar with two settings?

I have that bar on my tC, it has two "settings" (meaning two sets of holes). Ours doesn't.
Also, that really is a sway bar -- ours is a torsion bar, technically speaking -- we have a beam rear axle, not independent suspension.

The TRD sway bar was my first mod. For about $150USD you can't go wrong.
Lovin' it!

Stiffness adjustment can be handy. The stiffer the rear, the less understeer you'll experience. The Hotchkis front sway for the tC has three levels of stiffness.

If you consider that the TRD bar is fairly easy to put on and take off, you do get two settings. Although going by the user reviews, there seems to be no reason to take it off once you've put it on, its that good.
