I got the same one, on newegg, disappointed with it.
On a few sites it says its WMA playable. newegg didn't say it was, so I should have trusted them.
Plus a few days ago, when I was driving, it tried to switch folders (MP3 cd) and it turned itself off after like 20 seconds of doing nothing.. I tried to turn it back on.. nothing... hit the tilt/eject... that worked... didn't eject the cd tho... clicked everything nothing... min later I come to a light... turn my car off then back on... loads up, spits the cd... I put it back in.. worked fine..
plus hitting the folder up and down is like an art form.. you have to be sooo percise

If you paid the price that was listed above for it (399) then to be fair I don't think you can really expect much. It seems more like a unit that if it doesn't work you might as well chuck it and buy another one. Not to toot my own horn but my deck retails for quite a lot more and I can honestly say after having Clarion and Pioneer desk previous the quality of the Alpine one is ahead of the rest.

Sorry don't have any more, had to return it after 45 days because of the following problems, no FM channels only AM channels tuned in around my house (never a problem with the stock radio), Display went out a few times, fan was very noisy at times, DVD player only worked about half the time, just couldn't put up with the problems anymore, crutchfield refunded the full amount no questions asked, I left a disc in the unit and they mailed it back free of charge. Hope others that own this unit have more luck then I did. Much happier with the stock unit, I did like the looks of the unit that was the only thing I like about it.

There are youtube videos just look it up so you can see how it works. Ida-x200 or Ida-x100

As you would expect from looking at it, the big wheel in the middle of the iDA-X100/iDA-X200 allows you navigate the content on your iPod in a manner similar to using your iPod.
Because it connects via USB, songs load almost instantly.
To speed up the process of searching through large music collections, you push in on the big wheel first and then rotate it left or right (this is the equivalent of scrolling quickly on your iPod). Once you get close to what you are looking for, you stop pushing in on the wheel and just rotate it left or right to select the correct item (this is the equivalent of scrolling slowly on your iPod).
This was not clearly documented in the manual but once you know this tip you can find things almost as quickly as using the iPod itself. Having said that though, I don't normally search for songs while the car is in motion because just like using a real iPod or cell phone it can be distracting.

Thanks yeah I have been playing with that but still don't see it go much quicker, I have to play with the settings more in order to get it in an ideal setting. I know there is a setting to change the scroll speed or something for that matter.

I installed a JVC KW-XG700 in my 2008 Yaris S Sedan. It has 3 sets of RCA outs (front/rear/sub), front mounted AUX input plus USB.
http://images35.fotki.com/v1171/photos/2/224343/6200481/100_1723-vi.jpg
I replaced the front speakers with JBL P663 6.5" components...
http://images36.fotki.com/v1203/photos/2/224343/6200481/JBLP660C-vi.jpg
and surface mounted the tweeters on the small panels behind the rear view mirrors.
http://images35.fotki.com/v1206/photos/2/224343/6200481/100_1733-vi.jpg
The rear speakers were upgraded to JBL P963 6x9's.
http://images33.fotki.com/v1188/photos/2/224343/6200481/100_1717-vi.jpg
These speakers are powered by a Kicker ZX200.4 amp that was certified at 64 watts per channel. I mounted this amp to the floor under the passenger seat. In the trunk, that has been covered with FatMat...
http://images35.fotki.com/v1198/photos/2/224343/6200481/100_1710-vi.jpg
I installed a JBL P1024 10" dual voice coil subwoofer.
http://images35.fotki.com/v1208/photos/2/224343/6200481/JBLsubwoofer-vi.jpg
The sub is powered by a Kicker ZX300.1 monoblock amp that was certified at 325 watts. This amp is mounted to the back of the sub box in the trunk.
http://images40.fotki.com/v1251/photos/2/224343/6200481/100_1817-vi.jpg
The spare tire cover and the rear carpet mat were trimmed to clear the sub. I took the carpet mat to an auto upholstery shop and had the trimmed edge bound and sewn.
http://images38.fotki.com/v1278/photos/2/224343/6200481/100_1818-vi.jpg
Here's the installed sub with the spare tire exposed.
http://images41.fotki.com/v1252/photos/2/224343/6200481/100_1819-vi.jpg
I still have full access to the spare tire with my setup.
All of my components, including the HU mounting brackets, wiring harness and speaker adapters, were purchased on Ebay. I installed everything myself with some assistance from a buddy with sub and amp wiring. My total investment is $1,200. I didn't get a touchscreen because I could not justify the extra cost. I also wanted a Double DIN HU because I think they look better in a Double DIN opening. I had to have three sets of RCA outs because I knew I wanted a a 4 channel amp plus a separate amp for the sub. This JVC HU met all my needs and didn't break the bank.
The only thing this HU doesn't have that I wish it had is HD radio. There are several HD stations in my area and would love to be able to tune in.

Crutchfield ships you a piece to help single DIN ones fit nicely. Sorry that's about the best I can do not a huge audio nut. My shopping experience at crutchfield was very good though so I bet if you give their sales department a call you can special order just the trim piece since you already have the head unit.

My three-year warranty expired in June of this year, so I thought it was time to upgrade the head unit in my '07 Yaris LB. I installed a newly released Pioneer AVIC-U310BT (http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Products/CarAudioVideo/In-Dash/GPS-Navigation-Systems/AVIC-U310BT) unit; I got it for $500, but it's easy to find for less if you are willing to bypass the factory warranty and go with an unauthorized retailer. It supports GPS with navigation, CD (no DVD), AM/FM, USB (iPod/iPhone), AUX, and Bluetooth calling. The faceplate is detachable.

Close up of the unit. Without a doubt, my favorite thing about the U310 is the high resolution screen.

Shot of the AUX and custom USB port. Both work.
http://www.yarisworld.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=268&pictureid=1718
Shot of the iPod/iPhone cable plugged in, ready to play.
I installed using a Metra 70-1761 harness and Metra 95-8202 dash kit. I made the USB accessory plate by carefully dremeling a slot for the end of a USB extension cable and gluing it on (super glue followed by high temp hot glue for stability). The AUX input on the U310 is a 1.8" stereo plug, so I picked up a 1/8" stereo plug from Radio Shack (Catalog #: 274-284), soldered some wires on, and connected them correctly following the appropriate diagram (http://www.yarisworld.com/forums/showpost.php?p=372831&postcount=47). The GPS antenna went under the dash. The microphone (not pictured) made it sound like I was talking into a tin can, so it got replaced with a Garmin 010-10804-0 that ended up sitting on the steering wheel. The flashing red light is a Varad LL-RE Red set to maximum flashing interval.
In the future I plan to install an actual alarm, move the microphone up to the visor, and replace the USB accessory plate with a rewired stock plate, either from an '09 Yaris or (more likey) a Scion.

I would have to agree w/ Pennyracer. I also thought that JVC didn't have anything good. Then to my suprise this JVC headunit was about the only one that had all the feature that I wanted built-in, and not ready.(5v output, built in bluetooth that is updateable via disc, direct ipod control [no adapter, excpt for ipod video], dvd, can play almost anything [ mp3,m4a,avi,jpeg,mpeg,mpg,wma] via usb & disc. I even hokked up a USb to 15 in 1SD card adapter, and it started playing the media. The proximity sensor was one of my favorite features.

^Yes...my camera sucks! I'll be working to get better pictures of the source. The bezel pieces are paint matched to the car. It looks pretty darned good IMHO. Four pre outs, four 24 bit DACs (one per pre out), 36 dB L&R four-way crossover, L&R 31 band EQ, time alignment...the list goes on...all in a 1 DIN chassis.

I certainly someone can clear something up for me.... I have a 2007 US Yaris S that came with the "integrated radio" the radio that is mounted into the trim panel with the vent cut outs.
I took it to a stereo place one time and they said there was no mounting hardware inside where the integrated radio sits to put in a double din, and there was nothing made for it. They did offer the single DIN with pocket. I ended up going this route.
However it seems like crutchfield says there is a double din kit for the car with integrated stereo. Howevere all I see is what appears to be side trims and has some mounts off of that for attaching to the radio. Now on my single din there is wings that come out and mount to the 4 screws that holds the radio in place. This doesnt exist on this double din piece. So I again repeat, I am standing by the stereo installer, I cannot do a double din...
But you guys have pictures of what appears to be my model based on the dashboard) and you have double din.. So can someone explain how this radio stays in place? Cause I really would like to get something like a Kenwood DNX6160.

BTW, N9QGS, I used the mounts right off the factory radio, did not need any kit besides the faceplate. The faceplate that Kong sells on eBay is a smaller hole than others, so you don't need any 'spacers' or any other special mounting hardware.

@ N9QGS - I absolutely know that the shop is 100% wrong. How? I converted from an integrated radio in my 2007 Yaris S to a single DIN using a kit and a new Toyota piece that you'll see on the YW link that S7V7N put up. The cost was around $100 I'd say for the kit and the new trim piece from Toyota. I also have pics on how I got from that to this:
http://i720.photobucket.com/albums/ww203/sqcomp/2007%20Toyota%20Yaris%20S/CIMG2108.jpg
Notice the the source unit area, not the kick. It's the same kit Derick is using, except I took it two steps more. I bonded the kit pocket closed with "melted" plastic (no heat was used), and then I had it painted to match the OEM car color.

I know back a few years ago cd players used to have a screw on top of the unit when they were brand new that you had to remove in order for the unit to work, usually had a big sticker that said to remove it, may want to check for that. And no problem, there's a few of us here who are more than happy to help.

Quick question I have about all these head unit radio systems..
Do any of them support the new digital radio format.
I was surprised to learn that my 2010 Yaris factory stereo is still only analog when all of our stations had made the switch to digital over 2 years ago now.
So if I was to replace my factory stereo unit with one of these fancy head units with the gps and dvd etc.. do they have digital?

Yes , it's a very good headunit , the installation was very easy with no cutting wires , and everything fitting in about 25 minutes !!!
And the price is very good for this much operations.I believe that the value for monay is 10/10 !!!

I laboured over which way to go for this. In the end, I figured an ipod only solution (no CD input) was the best option for me.
From what Im reading CDs are being phased out soon anyway, and I cannot remember the last time I actually put one into my old HU!
Also, with lossless audio rips now going onto my ipod, I dont have to worry about "Crappy compressed ipod sound' anymore and the whole setup has given a new lease of life to my previously-retired 140GB iPod classic.

Hi all!
Here are some pictures of my current install. My ride is a 2008 YRS 5dr LB in Melbourne, Australia.
The Head-unit is the 2012 Alpine CDE-133 (e)BT. It is mounted on a Metra Single-DIN bracket. I have also swapped those 60's-"here-is-the-future-of-technology"-green-colour bulbs on the AC/FAN controls to some cool BLUE LED's (to match the head unit!). Behind the head unit is the Metra ASWC - which ensures I can continue to use the steering wheel controls - all of this is thanks to the YarisWorld world! Couldn't have done it without this valuable resource.
Next up - Alpine KTP-445 with Alpine SPR60c's or Kicker KS60.2's in the front... soon I'll get around to doing a sound-deadening job.

For an early Christmas/Birthday present, my wife bought me a Pioneer FH-X700BT for my 2009 Yaris hatchback. So far, it sounds great even with the factory speakers, much better than the factory head unit which was made by Fujitsu Ten. I was able to adjust the color of it so it closely matches the dashboard display. It also has Bluetooth so I have hands free calling with my mobile phone, it isn't easy answering a call while driving stick shift in rush hour traffic. It can also stream the music on my phone and has a USB port for playing music from a thumb drive, not to mention a CD player. So far I like this head unit and I thank my wonderful wife for it.

Here are a couple of shots of the microphone mounted above the rear view mirror. They didn't come out too well, but thought I'd post them anyway.

Just installed this new JVC KW-V20BT unit in my 09 liftback. It is a really nice unit has the feature of adding a backup camera and also play dvds to a monitor if I had any. Already hooked phone up via bluetooth and tested iTunes radio on it and it sounds pretty good. Came with usb for ipod and Mic for hands free calling. Over all this was the easiest radio install I have ever done.

Not much eye candy but very functional. JVC unit with Bluetooth phone and audio, USB, aux and built in android app software which works well with my motox. It was cheap and the led light adjustability brings it pretty close to the guage light Colour. Note: in the pic the lights look all red. They aren't, the buttons are orange and the screen is red - the lighting throws it off :phttp://i1373.photobucket.com/albums/ag374/metrixlp/IMG_20141024_114412379_HDR_zpszohgokfu.jpg
Big buttons ftw. Makes it easy to use the unit while driving. Small buttons suck, especially when on bumpy coilovers.

Just installed this JVC kvw20bt in one of my super duty plow trucks. Have it hooked up to an alpine reverse camera that is mounted to the in box salt spreader. Really nice head unit and works like a dream with my android. I'm going to get used to it some more and if I like it enough I'm going to get one for the yaris. At 350 bones, its a bargain. No GPS, but will sync with my phones GPS and display it with full control on the head unit.

To hell with the stupid Eclipse AVN2210p! Like every car stereo with a removable front plate, it's finally only working right when you stick a penny in there. Out with the old, in with the new! Pioneer AVH-X2700BS, with parking brake override by Micro Bypass (Amazon) and Axxess AX-USB-35EXT (from Sonix Electronics) to route USB and AUX input to where the factory aux-in was. Radio bezel I got from eBay Germany, leftover from when I installed the Eclipse/TomTom unit.

I fitted a rear back up camera at the same time, along with the daisy chained modules for SiriusXM, Bluetooth, and iPod (they connect through the CD changer plug on the back of the HU). I've since removed the Bluetooth module (found phone usage while driving to be too distracting, and it was real inconsistent in connecting with my Samsung S-III) and the iPod module (it has a built in USB line that controls the iPod as well, making the module a bit redundant). It also has an SD card interface, so I've found that to be more convenient for most of my audio library.
I've updated the software in the HU once, and the map files twice, but I think NavTeq has stopped supporting upgrades for this model. It used to have real-time traffic alerts on the nav side as well, by subscription through Navteq, but again the web links to re-subscribe seem to be perms-broke, and Navteq tech support denies all knowledge of every offering the service.
I used a JVC-Toyota wiring harness, running the stock speakers. Telegraph tied, soldered, and heat-shrink wrapped all of the connections on the bench. The HU has a full connector set for AV I/O, but the only connection I'm using is for the backup camera. The HU uses the OEM mounting bracket, and the DD trim kit snaps on to that- the physical installation was really pretty easy.
I like the option of changing the face screen colors, so I was able to match to the stock dash board lighting. The face plate is motorized, tillable, and can be fully detached for when I'm parked in some sportier neighborhoods.
The only other modest complaint is that the AM radio tuning sensitivity is horrible- but I think that's a byproduct of the internal antenna design on the car as much as anything.

I changed mine to a Kenwood Excelon 599, added a SSL Lo-Pro 8 powered sub (remote next to the voltmeter), digital voltmeter and a custom 4 switch setup.
Left to right :
1/2 for selecting which battery bank voltage to display (secondary battery behind the driver seat)
Momentary push button for the deep tone big rig horn
On/off rocker for switched A/C (to disable A/C when using the 3 defogging ventilation controls)
On/off rocker switch for head unit power (independent from accessory key position)
Tuned the rgb color of the display to a smooth faded blue (best color for my eyes all around, particularly night time driving), all my music uncompressed on the USB flash drive, using Bluetooth for hands free calls, don't really use all the other features like Sirius, Pandora, iHeartradio, etc. My cluster is white in color with red gauge needles, so it's smooth and easy on the eye (my definition of luxury). Used Metra harness and DIN mounting bracket, free with the purchase of the head unit from Crutchfield.com
Doesn't have a dimmer function like the stock unit did, but you can tweak the color and brightness to a good balance for both day and night.
Voltmeter and switch lights are crisp as the heading display, despite how my camera decided to show it.

Didn't you already changed your speakers since last thread ? If so, change the HU first since it will give you better sound adjustment and more power, as well as auxiliary output for amps if you still feel like one afterward.

Wife got a new (to her) 4Runner with the stipulation that I get a new receiver, speakers, window tinting, on my 2007 Toyota Yaris with integrated radio. I installed cheap Alpine 6.5" in the doors and matching Alpine 6x9" in the rear deck and a Pioneer AVH-2300NEX as the receiver. I would have liked a sub, but I'm old.

ATOTO A6 PRO.
Absolutely love this unit.It uses a ball joint swivel and also slides up and down.Much better then some other units that use pins of sorts to attach screen.Rock solid. It can be slid down far enough to cover the volume knob and have it positioned more evenly.I like it up high.
This unit by far exceeded my expectations.I am using carwebguru launcher which is highly customizable.https://imgur.com/a/dedN0VT
Plus it has manual volume dial which I like. You can use screen for volume like any other android but I really like this feature.

yeah but me.I dont care about sirrus or even streaming online, but we have a bunch of cool HD stations around here, which are free.
I have about an 8 year old conventional Pioneer head unit with it, but I've about abused this thing to death and am considering a replacement. I know Pioneer makes them in the double Din, I'm just a tightwad sometimes
And like ya say, it comes at a price. HD isnt really that popular of a feature..most folks dont really know what it is.

Keep in mind that this was built 10-years ago. I just wanted a good basic system, nothing fancy. The amp is a PowerBass that is 300-watts RMS, perfect the Earthquake SWS is rated at 200-watts RMS.
The amp is under the Passenger seat

I painted the interior today because being in lockdown is very fun... but I took a shot including the head unit. It looks much better during the night. It's the Sony XAV-AX3000. Not a close up unfortunately, it's a nice unit and I have it hooked up to some budget Pioneer speakers. Hoping to get a subwoofer, etc one day. Missing the facia dash in the pic as that's just drying up.

Hello,
Recently I installed ATOTO F7 (F7TYC7SE) (http://www.myatoto.com/index.php?m=content&c=index&a=show&catid=15&id=91) on my 2015 Yaris.
It's made specifically for Toyota models having 205*104 dashboard opening. Very easy installation, plug-n-play harness included. Original steering wheel controls worked out-of-the-box. Sounds better than factory radio. HU is Linux based, not so feature rich as Android HU, but it support Android Auto/Apple CarPlay, which could cover most of your needs.
I'm plan to purchase and rear camera in near future.

for hatchback owners, theres a TON of room up under the dash just to the right of the heater behind the glove box, in fact theres enough room to mount 2 600watt amps, ive got 1 in there right now
i would assume the same space is availible for the sedan but cant say for sure
600watt unit up there with 2 hand made ultra slim boxes mounted under rear seat delete under the aluminum plate with a pair of 8s , due to the maze port design with a square port opening aimed about center of the car faceing forward, the output is ASTOUNDING..ive had multi thousand watt systems in the past with 15s 10s etc, i had one rig with 3500 wats in the 90s, and to be fair this does better than the 15inch sub box i had in my truck, with GREAT clarity
while its maginaly a single box in the fact that i kept a back brace panel connecting the boxes its 2 12x15x 7 inch boxes..yeah the are THIN but theres a diviot in the floor where the back seat would be that gives a nice pocket for the speaker face to be aimed down in as well reflecting sound to the front sides of the car kinda thru the bolster area
i built the setup as an experiment and im blown away
