I don't undestand why Toyota elected not to put the number for the bulbs in the liftback manual. Does anyone have them?

Thanks!

How small were the hands of the engineers who designed this car? I can barely get my hand in to remove the tail light bulbs and will have to remove parts to get at the headlights.

It is easier to just remove the tail light assy., to replace the bulbs.

Two 10mm nuts, and they pop right out.

can you sub in 194 bulbs for those 2825 bulbs?

If you are talking about the side markers, then NO. Liftback side markers can be removed from the fenders, but the bulbs cannot be removed from the side markers... it is a sealed assy., from Toyota.

Now if you are talking about the liscence plate light, YES.. they can be replaced.

BTW - 194 wedge bulb is the same as a 2825 bulb.

Backup light looks like 7507A to me not 7440, but maybe I'm crazy. I am about to get in there again and pull it all out.

There must be different kinds of 7440 bulbs. The ones I got are a wedge base. The stock one's are the twist in kind (look just like the turns but clear)

The stoplight is a wedge base and it is a 7443 but the reverse light is not a wedge base.

i just managed to use 1156 bulbs(clear) in the front and rear turn signals.it takes some twisting but it goes in and works......

I was wondering if those would work also I think the 1156 and 1157 and 7507 and 7506 are all very close. Not sure if they all have the single circuit base though. I think a BAU15 is also the same as the 7507. er, overload

You guys just need to be aware of the bulb base pins... some are offset, some are straight. It doesnt take much but these little differences will decide if they fit or not.

Choose wisely before buying just anything that "looks close."

what about the center consol lights...that light up the heat and stuff?

I used 7507 in the front which is the same as the rear. I know this for a fact. The reverse I am going to freakin pull right now. I swear it is the same type bulb, a 7507.

There is only one type of 7507 , the pins are offset.

Well, I'm screwed. The reverse bulbs are NOT offset. Don't know what they are but the are exactly like the turn but with non offset pins. I wasted like 30 bucks last night because I was too lazy to check.

The turn signal bulbs are 7507 with offset pins and the brake bulb is a 7443 and there is a write up on the a/c controllers and shifter if you have an auto like me.

the reverse is a 1156, maybe since rockland got the 1156's with the straight pins in, I can get the offset 7507 jammed in for my reverse lights, doubt it

Chris,

Autolumination.com has nice diagrams of the different bulb types. The 1156 has the straght pins not offset.

Chris,

Slightly off subject but I was looking at the LED's you used in your headlights. The 194 wedge driving lights. You have a HID set up right? I was talking with someone who is sure the heat from a halagon bulb is way to extreme and it will fry the LED. I'm running the xenon h-4's which will be right there next to the LED and was advised it will certainly fry. I am guessing the HID set up doesn't emit much heat in comparison? Hopefully this hasn't already been covered.

First off, HIDs run way cooler then the halogens do. Second, no halogen gets soo hot, that it will ruin an led parking light, even with ours being as close to each other as they are.

Go order your leds.

So your saying all 1156's are amber?

I dont follow you at all.

brickhardmeat

rockland, what you smoking?

please go to autolumination.com and fork over the cash to get the right bulbs, I don't want you to blow a fuse or something

you should have 7507 turn signals, these bulbs are available in a variety of colors and coatings, you can even get led's if you want

the reverse is a 1156, use that bulb for your reverse lights or something, that must be where you pulled it from

So your saying all 1156's are amber?

I dont follow you at all.OK FIRST i said that i didn't want an amber bulb in my turn signals. my research led me to find that that an 1156(clear) bulb fit into our housings with little resistance.this thus solved my problem of having amber turn signals.
secondly, any issuses with fuses or what not is well under control. i never said that my mod was anything more than something i wanted for myself......

drop the attitude homie, knowones starting shit with you or with the mods you choose. Your posting of one-liners was a little confusing as they made no sence, hence the questions.

Hey it will probably be fine. It's all trial and error. I don't think you'll really hurt anything. I was trying to let you know that there are lots of options for the correct bulb fitment. Trust me I have a box of bulbs that I got on the car and didn't care for much and have replaced. I've only had my car for about two weeks. It's all good.

Does anyone know the bulb sizes for the JDM RS LED tailights? or are they same?
