Before you all ask, i'm ok, i live in the city. It's the people that live in the outback, in the bush that are in danger.

This bushfire is absolutly shocking. 3,300 square kilometeres (2050 square miles) burnt so far and still going strong. 108 dead with many more feared dead and over 750 homes burnt to the ground.

Anyone wishing to help please donate to:-

Red cross bushfire appeal.

This is from an internal email to us at IBM

"IBM has decided to provide up to $250,000 in equipment and services to immediately assist those organisations supporting emergency and relief efforts associated with the bushfires. We have contacted the Victorian Government, the Country Fire Authority, and the Australian Red Cross to offer our practical assistance and support with equipment and services as required. Andrew Hocking, our Corporate Citizenship Manager, will coordinate these efforts."

The company I work for, which I don't want to name is willing to match dollar for dollar for all employee donations to the bushfire appeal.

Glad you guys are okay. We have way too many fires every year here in LA, so I can just imagine what you're all going through. Be safe, guys:smile:

This video is from yesterday. Today it was declared to be the worst fire in Australian history and the highest loss of life in peacetime on Australian soil. If you can donate money please do so https://www.redcross.org.au/Donations/onlineDonations.asp Most of these people only have the clothes on there back and they have lost everything.

At this stage the death toll stands at 131 dead and that is expected to rise. To put it into perspecive an area 41 times the size of Anaheim is totally burned out and lost and the fires are still raging.

Once again, if you can donate, please do.

Thanks man  The fires are still going! Death count at 181 and expected to get up to about 300. They may never identify all the bodies as there are just some bones left in cases.

They only just started to let residents back into some of the areas. This is really fucked up. It's going to hurt our economy for a decade and that's not what we need in this time of financial mess.
