howdy all

i've been going through bodykit shops around melbourne and i'm unable to find these side skirts, only kit was available are c-one, ings+, and other 'extreme' kits. i was quoted for a custom job for a plan simple side skirt for $1k(aus) not including painting and fitting. just want to know if anyone knows a where i could buy them (a replica), if worst comes to worst i may have to order the original side skirts in japan, god knows how much that would cost. :frown:

There is a shop here in sydney called ssv...
They have the yrx body kit, primed for 1149
and painted and fitted for 1650

But they include the front lip and the rear lip as well with the side skirts...

Side skirts by itself look pretty good, i was considering getting just side skirts. Without the front and rear. That one in the photo looks good on the white. :D

I agree most definitely, the RS side skirts look a lot cleaner then the YRX side skirts. It follows the body's curve much better. Keep looking Katsudon! I'm interested in RS side skirts too if you could find out where to get them..

maybe get the part # from a canadian or american toyota dealership (pretty sure that trdsparks has a 1-800 number) and see if your local dealer can get it?

There's an Ebay seller in the US that is selling the JDM RS Skirts, i was having a look. Although the photo shows the C-One side photo, though they have listed the full kit with the proper RS Kit.

Here's the links

JDM RS Side Skirts - http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/07-08-Toyota-Yaris-HB-JDM-RS-Side-Skirts_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trkparmsZ72Q3a1205Q7c66Q 3a2Q7c65Q3a12Q7c39Q3a1Q7c240Q3a1318Q7c301Q3a1Q7c29 3Q3a1Q7c294Q3a50QQ_trksidZp3286Q2ec0Q2em14QQhashZi tem380066226567QQitemZ380066226567QQptZMotorsQ5fCa rQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories

It lists it as shipping Worldwide, but im not sure how much they would charge.

If i find another shop that's not on Ebay i'll let you know.

Wouldn't 2dr and 3rd be the same, lol.

katsudon

lolll 2dr, yeah should be the same but just to be the in safe side choose 3dr.

jinxor
02-10-2009, 04:16 PM
We should get this checked...
The USDM and the AU spec yaris bodies are slightly different.... I think...
Make sure you take that into consideration before spending like crazy for the bodykit

I remember there was a guy from thailand ckmotorsports who was saying he can also arrange for parts but from thailand... which might be a replica but cheaper... have a look at that too

spookz
02-10-2009, 05:16 PM
I believe the main chassis is the same length between the USDM and AUDM Yaris. Just that the USDM ones have longer front and rear bumpers. So side skirts should remain unaffected.

ruimond
02-10-2009, 09:11 PM
Freight to AU is $430 Yes 2dr and 3dr is same for your car

Got quoted that in an email. So its like $650 AUD Shipping. Really expensive, almost $1000+ for the sideskirts+shipping.

i had chat to liza from ck motorsport, and they dont sell replica's bodykit only original.
i was roughly quote for original rs side skirts for 5 million IDR (about $650 AU) and they have
never ship to australia before. the company is actually based in indonesia.

Abit hard to tell what the "Cool-Plastic Side skirts" look like..there's a picture of it where it lists the Cool-Plastic Front Lip. Im guessing that is probably custom made.

Yeh i would guess it would sit slightly lower then the current base of the front and rear.

A whole kit would look better but it costs so much.

idk what the difference in length would be, but yes, there will be a difference in length and fit.

i was just about to submit a new thread with updated pics of my car...but since we are on the topic...i just put these Kaminari's on today :)

idk what the difference in length would be, but yes, there will be a difference in length and fit.

I think the Length of 3dr and 5dr side skirts is the same.

But if you bought a 3dr side skirt you can't fit it on the 5dr as the trim on the end would be different.

But a 5dr side skirt would fit a 3dr model, as you don't have the two back doors so it wouldn't hit into anything. I guess.

m911gt
03-20-2009, 09:46 PM
so the distance between the wheel wells is exactly the same regardless of trim? that's convenient!

I might be wrong. But should be correct, since cali yaris said in a thread awhile ago that the overall length of either side skirts are the same. I made a thread awhile ago about this.

Hopefully the info the correct because im probably ordering some RS side skirts soon and their from thailand and they are meant for the 5door version....if not i'm gonna be in some some trouble  lol

Haha.

Umm they are, ABS (Plastic) Copies. They are made for the 5door. But should be able to fit it, as the length is meant to be the same so i've been told a few times.

I was thinking with the RS Spoiler, because i have stripes....obviously the spoiler would not have them at the back rear. Don't know if this would look weird or not, so i might or might not be putting it on. Unless i remove the stripes, but i dunno if i really want to do that as of now. lol.

spookz
03-23-2009, 06:02 AM
You should consider continuing your stripes onto your spoiler, and ending it where it meets the rear glass. Leaving your boot lid and bumper clean.

Ruimond, did you try test fit them to see if the side skirts fit our 3doors?? =D

Yeh the ends wrap around the two end points pretty nice and tight. Seems to be pretty good test fit, but i'll see how the final thing is next week. The bodyshop said it was a pretty good fit.

I bought some rubber when i ordered the skirts..and their meant to go on the edges around the lip, was told that usually they don't use that...as it may not go around the edges perfectly and might look abit weird once its pushed onto the side of the car. But the shop is gonna try both ways with and without, so i guess they'll decide which will look better.

Picked up car...pretty happy with it. Looks good. But the fittings on the side isn't 100% at the moment....as the glue didn't have time to dry....so it needs to be re-done next week. There's slight gaps on the sides...which is ok i guess...its not really visable from far. Needs to be pushed on and re-glued on the bits with gaps.

On the other hand the spoiler was a better fit, then the side skirts at the moment.

Will take some photos in the next few days probably.

They're supposed to flare down. They are not meant to be JUST sideskirts, they always come with a full lip kit when from Toyota.

ruimond

is it me or does the front and back of the sideskirts look like it flair down a bit than usual...

It does flare down slightly, the reasons for this would be because:

First they are not originals - they are abs plastic "copys"

Second they were made for the four door thailand Yaris model, so the length might be very slightly different to accomodate the 4 Doors.

Or it might be because the way it was installed to fit around the curve of the car.

Just my own thoughts. But yes the original RS side skirts i have seen are abit straighter.
