threads might be crossthreaded as I advised in your other thread a while back.......

yea i remember, i got it out but thanks tho. so its installed. There was a little bit of smoke coming from the header where it bolts up to the engine but it was gone after 30 sec gonna wait till it cools and tighten the bolts again.

Make sure you torque them to the correct spec, or you risk leaks.

got it all tq good and no leaks. Did a short drive heavy traffic so couldn't really get on it. One thing i must say it does feel smooth as others have reported. When i drove it i felt like i was floating on water. I did notice a little lost on the low end tho. For a rookie mechanic like me it took 3 hours since i didn't have some tools and had to bus it to the parts store. Next up is the NST pulleys... might just take me all day for that one lol

the NST pulleys shouldn't take that long. However you might have trouble with the ALT bolt (if you use 3 pulley kit from NST). A impact gun will be your friend too.

I really want to get a header, but the idea of losing low end torque doesn't sound that great. I can only really feel it pull in 1st and then after that, the torque isn't that strong at all. So the idea of losing even more torque for more mid range gains, ehhhhhhh idk.

Anyways, whenever you do the pulleys, let me know if you feel more of a difference with the NST pulleys than you did with the header added on. Although they will compliment eachother in a performance gain, I just have a feeling you can't really tell a significant difference with the header. Because everyone talks about how great the pulleys are, it's not THAT big of a difference. And people say the pulleys you can feel more of a gain than a header...so that's not really pushing me towards a header. Plus I am waiting for a turbo kit to come out....HAH.

well to tell you the truth i dont really feel it lol. but it does drive a hell of alot better.then i again i didnt feel anything when i installed my intake and exhaust so idk. :iono:. I myself am leanin towards a sc when the price gets down alittle

I know what you mean.

The first mod I did was the NST underdrive puley. I know I felt a little more power with that pulley on (3hp gain according to a dyno by Richard). However, it was just a little, and nothing to get excited about. Then I put the WP and ALT pulleys on after, and I definately couldn't tell a difference with those. I also didn't feel anything with my AFE intake or my nur spec S axleback exhaust. But those sure do sound great! haha

*You leaning towards the blitz or the PE enterprise S/C kit?

i am a rotex man myself plus it puts down more power;)

But you won't get the awesome S/C whining noise! haha

this is true hmm but i believe that these kind of sc can use a blow off valve :)

so yea just to check back in with my full reaction... Well its mixed i did lose tq noticeably...sux bad cause it doesnt seem that i gaind it anywhere else in the power band. But for some ungodly reason my mpg went up and i was WOT basically everywhere. i usually get 29 when i drive regular but i got 30 and i was gasing it on the highway every time i got to work i mean 95 mph with my heel kissing the carpet. Its the weirdest thing cause i kno its on correctly. Well anyway just ordered my UD pulley from microimage and bought an impact gun. Hopefully i will get my tq back i miss it.

Thanks for all the info Yoda and Peter. I've been teetering on whether or not to buy DC headers or any headers and I think you guys convinced me.

nice! you should notice a difference with the pulley (even if it's a small change). the impact gun in a must!

*I thought you were leaning towards going S/C. The crank pulley is the one ideal for going S/C'd. You planning on just running the UD pulley until you get a S/C (if that ever happens) and then just sell the UD pulley and put on a Crank pulley? Or you planning on going turbo down the line?

naw no turbo just gonna get the UD pulley now then when i get the S/C switch it out.
