Would someone mind measuring the "flat" portion between the ribs of the oil pan?
I'm looking at buying an oil pan heater, just need the space to be an inch-and-a-half, or more.
Thanks guys!
(If you're wondering, yes I'm away from home.)

Oil pan heater? As you are in Canada your car may already be equipped with a block heater,if not its an inexpensive install,i wouldnt worry about the cold unless its constantly colder than -40,modern synthetics work well in the cold but if you do want to prewarm the car and have the option to plug in the car you may also want to think of an electric battery warmer, kinda like an electric blanket for batteries. and an interior heater.

1) I have a block heater. Dealer around here does not sell any 'yota without one.
2) Our gas mileage is abysmal (average of 23-25mpg) due to the large amount of short trips (under 2 miles).
3) Pre-warming the oil can help ALOT with the start-up wear-and-tear.
4) The battery warmer is already on the list of needed items.
Any other questions?
If I don't get a response by tomorrow I'll measure it myself.
