After months of looking and stressing we bought our first home today.
Here is a link. http://www.realestate.com.au/cgi-bin/rsearch?a=o&id=105488033&f=0&p=10&t=res&ty=&fmt=&header=&cc=&c=83053728&s=vic&snf=rbs&tm=1234683519
It's in a good neighbourhood. 2 min drive to a grocery store, shops and train station. We are very happy. We get to move in in 30 days!

True and it's deep too, plenty of room for two Yaris or a Yaris and boxes of stuff.

Hmmm, whoever is home first will get garage. But, I hate being blocked in so i'll prob let my wife park in there most of the time.

600k+ is way expensive. Housing in America, the land of opportunity is a fortune. Don't worry your time will come and you'll have a mortgage noose hanging around your neck for 30 years.
Congrats MD! Looks nice! =)

Thanks ryank, can't wait to move in. Can't believe i've paid rent for two years when a mortgage on my own property will be cheaper.

Yes, wonderful news.
And you can put a nail anywhere you want and paint it any color.
Tip: Remember to put a bit extra away each month (maybe the difference between rent and now mortgage) to cover unexpected repairs that would have been covered by a landlord before. Like hot water heater, stove, heating/air stuff, etc.

It's in euros 136,500.
My appartment is for sale at 185,000 euros thats 359000 Australian dollar for 80 m².
In my area i'm looking for a house with a garage wich starts in the cheapest parts of Breda from 582000 Aus dollar.

Excellent buddy! Nice looking place and my advice is to do some stuff yourself, Can't beat the sense of accomplishment for a project well done. Probably save some $$ too.
Another way to save a little more is to pay down your principle each month. One extra payment a year, earmarked towards the principle only, cuts 7 to 8 years off the length of the loan

The rent where we are at the moment is higher than the mortgage we will have, so we'll just keep paying the same amount and pay the mortgage off sooner. :w00t:

Congrats on the house though!

We had our savings in an "high interest savings account", i had a decent deposit. What i meant by "we'll start a savings account" is we'll put a little aside incase the hot water system or something else blows up.
