While waiting for my MEGAN chassis braces and NST pulley set and saving up for nice wheels and tires and deciding on which coilovers to get, I'm going crazy that my Yaris is still bone-stock!
So what would give the bigger bang for the buck mod? CAI or headers?
Opinions please :)

Unfortunately I don't like NOS and the supply of nitrous gas locally is rather poor in quality. :(
Still looking at an engine swap one day though hehehehe

depending on the amount of standing water you encounter, i'd say do CAI.. if you deal with a lot of rain, do the header though..
or save that money for forced induction.. all the money spent on buying "bolt ons" that will be rendered useless once you go turbo could be saved and get you to that point much faster.

Once Garm says CAI everyone jumps on the band wagon... with that being said...CAI.
What can I say, I like to hang out in large groups.

Well until DC Sports makes a 4-2-1 pipe header then I'm going to still say CAI.

I agree with Tamago.. CAI couple hp same as a shorty header... if youre set on get one or the other i'd say CAI.. easier install..

The local distributor for K&N has dyno tested his CAI setup and gained 5whp so not too shabby. MPG improved noticeably enough according to his customers who put one in. With the CAI, headers and a full exhaust w/ the cat in place, one Yaris claims to have made a full 10 wheel hp gain without any tuning. I'm waiting for his final ouput once they install a DASTEK piggy-back ECU and do some dyno time. I guess if you're starting at the low 70+ wheel HP level (at least locally here) I guess you will feel that 10whp, possibly more.
While 40whp gain is something worth considering, I don't want to go crazy on engine mods in the Yaris. I have another car for crazy speed and power anyway. I just want to eke out as much power yet still maintain close to 100% reliability i.e. one-click start operation, no overheating issues and quiet, inobtrusive for the daily commute to work.
All the inputs though are greatly appreciated even if I don't agree with them all. :) keep 'em coming :)
PS i drive the Yaris as fast as I can regardless of the road surface here in the Philipines which can get really bad, despite being on what the local highway sstem describes as a "highway" ehehehe so chassis braces are really important to me. Hence I got the Megan braces which I said in previous posts is distributed locally by a good friend. Next up would be a front strut-bar and 4-point front lower brace regardless of how other people feel it's a waste. It's the rear im debating about too since I play golf and normally load up the rear to the brim.
Anyways, thanks for the feedback. Its fun reading through a lot of old posts by the pros, I'm still learning quite a lot despite having been in the car business (I own a small shop specializing in modding cars like Supras, Silvias, Evos and STI's) for over 8 years :)
