Nice coilovers,
Just wondering where you got these from and what spring rates they are? Are they just coilover front with spring shock combination for the rear?

He got them from Micro Image. They are 7k front, 5k rear -- stiff but surprisingly comfortable.

yes, coilover front, spring+shock rear. These have adjustable shock height so you can match your rear shocks to the overall height you set. They also come with adjustable tie rod ends.

Here's two crappy pictures of them installed:

I'll take some halfway decent pictures tomorrow.

So far I love them. Rear really isn't as low as it looks, it's not lowered at all IMO, but the dude that installed them for me said he couldn't go any lower or else the springs wouldn't be locked in the perches?

Anyways, thanks Garm!

Looks perfect! Not too low, there's some useful suspension travel left. Too low = ricey

You should be able to adjust the rear shock length on the silkroad shorter so that you can go lower in the rear. Springs will fall out of the perches when you get the rear wheels off the ground if you lower the spring collars too low because it doesn't "lock" into place. So if you go lower in the rear, shorten the shock length as well to reduce downward travel of the rear torsion beam.

Thanks for the help. Yeah, I'm thinking the guy I had install them had no idea about the shocks because it looks like their height wasn't touched at all.

So now it's a lot better in the rear:

The rims are Volks in itty bitty 14s +45 I think. (Bought them off Garm, that's what he told me. ) Tires are 195/60s.

Nah, it's in Roseville. Both are way over developed and undersold though!

Lower?! I need to get used to driving my car THIS low first, otherwise I'll be buying a new bumper sooner than I want to.

You gotta let me ride in it one day. Let me know if you're ever near Sac State or Rancho Cordova.

FYI with the adjustable swaybar endlinks use locktite on the jam nuts. We had one wiggle loose and lost it :(

garm, they aren't tie rod ends they are swaybar endlinks.

Oops forgot the width, yeah definitely not. I wish they were that wide! 5.5" actually.

What was the rationale for buying these? Looks, or performance?

I personally would run a less sidewall tire and go lower for the street.

If you are going to rally or track it, then that setup should do fine.

I was just looking to get rid of my heavy 17s that I had on my car at the time, and was looking to buy a set of Konig Heliums, either 15" or 16". Garm just so happened to be selling the real deal in 14" so I thought, why not?

Can't beat 6.5 pounds a wheel.

Running less sidewall would mean sacrificing performance for tire size. The Falkens I have on there only come in a 195/60 and came highly recommended.

But yeah, it's going to be tracked this summer.
