are you 100% always a dick? :frown:
I said that oil cap came from AEM -- which it did.
Plus, since he's wondering where to get one.. your best bet would be with a company who still sells them, don't you think? :iono:

UPDATE 5/21
Couldn't figure out why 550cc injectors would be maxing out at 8 psi in the upper rpm ranges...definitely enough fuel pressure.
Turns out they are 200cc, not 550cc...oops
More injectors on order and the tuning continues.

wellll.... dammit, no start today. Everything seems to be wired up correctly, but the coils aren't delivering a spark. One more (hopefully?) hurdle for Art to work through - OFFICIALLY OVER MY HEAD... hehe...
It was actually nice just to sit in my car today, even if I wasn't being much help...
i take it you got it going? when a AEM does not fire first thing to check in if Stat Sync turn on while cranking...
And what are you using to fire the coils? Twin fire? Dis4?
Is that a honda AEM wired up?
Love the setup, would like to play with my yaris more but its just for going to and from work:redface:

Yeah I wish I had money .. my project in terms of the car in general is put to a halt until I can get $$$. Set me back a whole lot even to the point where I'm ready to sell all on the car and put it back to stock. I really don't want to get to that point though.
BTW ... check out my new site hahaha ... www.ambientlifestyle.com

But thanks for the sarcasm, anyway.... I'd probably ask you if you were feeling all right if you stopped doing it.

I asked you this because I heard that stock trans don't hold much bhp (been told near 150-170bhp) although that depends how you drive the car. If you are willing to drag race it frequently on high revs at about 300Bhp than that is another story.

Parmas, where did you "hear" this? I see this kind of information posted all the time, and it's never traceable to real life experience. Tamago, on the other hand, has actually blown transmissions, so his experience does count as data.

Last year when I was in good contact with Jess of TurbineTech during the approach to buy the engine from him, he told me that to be safe it's better to invest on a 4age transmission. I don't know if he knows how much the yaris trans holds but I would prefer be in the safe side.
I think turboecho2005 could tell you more on this...
Treyz

The 4AGE engine is used on Toyota AE111 Levin/Trueno which combines with a C160 6speed transmission with limited slip differential.
This transmission happens to be the one I am using with my 1NZFE!!. Matches perfectly and the stock yaris links match up. It is sure way better than the stock one and capable to withstand higher power than the yaris trans.
cali yaris
06-27-2009, 12:09 PM
Jess is knowledgable, but I think he only had the car on the dyno.
turboecho2005
06-27-2009, 02:34 PM
I have no doubt that the c160 transmission is stronger. it was designed for a car that has 170hp and revs to 10k.... unlike the 1nzfe that was used in an economy car.
But don't expect the c160 to give you a better quarter mile time. its more suited to the track as far as gearing... if you wanted 1/4 speed then you would have been better to stick with the 5 speed.
although the 160 is geared more towards track use... i would say its the best transmission thats a direct swap for track/road use. The LSD is a plus also.
Plus its a cheaper solution then buying an LSD and fitting into your stock yaris transmission.
I am excited to see this project :) Hurry up!!!

ha, I'm working on it!
Art only has thursdays and sundays so those are our working days on the car. then we'll (finally!) schedule dyno time to properly tune this thing.
