My guess is that you need to drain the water that gets in there every now and then from rain and stuff...
hmmm, dunno -- I figure it's either to drink something or pee into....?
Hey... You could use a rainchain (http://www.rainchains.com/3139-3.html) to do it for you!:laugh:

You scoundrel, you DID get the interior piece (me very envious).
Now I'm gonna have to save up and get it as well (can't be out done by some ricer half a world away ).
I can measure the external scoop tonight if anyone wants. The internal piece is approx. 600mm long x about 200mm wide x about 50 mm deep (not including the vents which protrude further). You simply twist the vents and it turns on and off the air flow (just like in planes) and yes, the tube is for drainage.
I'm assuming you haven't seen their carbon fibre mirrors yet eh

I will just have one of the old style pop up roof vents concealed under the scoop so if the weather is inclement, or we have a locust plague, or I actually drive fast enough to catch somebody and get stuck in their dust, I can simply shut the vent and the outside stays outside.
Garm, you may have to have some way of removing the internal piece every now and then for cleaning and with regards to weather, I have seen some people shove blocks of sponge foam in there to block them off when needed.

With the exchange rate the way it is, you may as well just buy a fibreglass version (which is alot cheaper than the carbon version) from LSM and save yourself the hassle.

Oh I agree. I only do copies of stuff when it doesn't look exactly the way I like it and/or when it ends up being cheaper to fabricate by myself. In this case I would certainly go for the real deal.
