Recall on events, my original engine got hydrolocked due to heavy rain and my home made cold air intake. Which then frozen and bent the rods. I thawed out the engine and took out about 2 liters of water. It was frozen in the engine & the throttle body, with all that thawing had vaccuming out water the crack was only able to turn about 7/8. So instead of rebuilding teh engine since i don't know how much damage the ice did i got a new/used engine.

Fast forward to now:
Got the engine, from the standard auto scrap yard here in toronto. It has 16497 miles (26549km) on it and i also got 6 months warranty on it, and it coming from the Maine, since that have a sister scrap yard there. Total cost 880$ taxes in Also got a place across the street from me to install it so i have save on towing waiting for that bill shouldn't be more than 550$. Just running around to get parts ie new spark plugs, amsoil motor & transmission oil, filter, exhaust manifold gasket, engine flush, new car battery. Also got an underdrive pulley from garm. Hoping to increase my mpg on long distance driving. i'll post pics when the engine gets to canada, and the whole install. Should be back on the road in three weeks.

ENGINE going in car?

He killed his engine. Basically turned his air box into a wet-vac and paid the price.

Glad to hear you'll be back up and running again in short order Adriaan.

Sorry to hear about your engine hydrolocking. I'm always afraid of this happening to me in heavy rains. Only problem for me is that my engine costs about $12,000. Never seen a used engine for under $6000, either.
