We've had ''carnaval'' here in the south of the Netherlands wich ends just 40 days before Easter.
But that ''fasting'' stuff i don't do.
I'm not religious after all.

Gene contributes a lot to YW. It's nice that he said something and didn't just stop posting so those of us who will miss his posts won't wonder why.

I have to admit it is a novel idea...... this is the first time I have ever seen anyone give up posting for lent. Kudo's to you Gene.

They were saying on the news this morning that giving up things like Facebook or something similar was one of the more popular items to give up for Lent this year.
