Been thinking about changing the springs to get the Yaris a little lower but with a stiffer ride. I'm a heavy bloke, so i'm really worried about the car hitting things and bottoming out if I change the springs.

What would you recommend for a small drop with much improved stiffness in springs.

I'm not interested in buying coilovers at the moment due to price.

So what do you think?

Hi Tony it really depends on where you want to buy them from , and quality you want.ie USA has more options available and most of the time better pricing ,it's just the freight that kills it for us , and also probably in your case the install cost as well .Myself i am saving toward a pair of progress springs from Garm , minium drop, mildly stiffer in the front than stock , and about the same as TRD , nf and df's in the back for stiffness . With about a 30mm drop alround as for shocks , go gas filled and look at the upper to middle price ranges ,and start to compare valve rates etc ,.But as alway's people on here will have there favorite brands and stories ,it will alway's come back to price , and customer back up in case somethinghappens to go wrong .

I got the DF's and love them. I dont have a problem botteming out and I weigh 260 lbs. I think the Tien S Tech's are stiffer with about the same drop

check drop vs. spring rate

what does "a little lower" mean to you? is it already dropped some?

What i'm really after is a spring that's just a little lower than stock springs but much firmer.

Well I'd say the Tanabe NF210 seems to fit your situation. The DF210's would be a lot more than a "little lower" compared to stock.
