OK, there are similar threads over in the other regional rooms, I thought I would start one on here to see if other YW folks are in my area.

There are two black LBs near me in San Antonio, one has nice rims on it and I believe the owner works at Zion Lutheran Church at 1604 and Braun as I see it parked there all the time. I want to stop one of these days and take pictures of our two cars together as they are very similar. I wonder if it is the same one I see up by Northwest Vista College on occasion, as I believe it has a Alamo Community College parking decal on the back window.

There is another black LB on Bandera Road where I think the owner works at one of the convenience stores as I've seen it parked there several times.

So, anyone else in and or around the San Antonio area?

I live just south of Fort Worth and I see all sorts of other Yari on the road. Non with really any mods done to them. Im thinking about making so flyers and passing them out when I them.

In my old Jeep club, we made business cards to leave on Jeeps. If someone was willing to make a template for YarisWorld cards in MS Word, folks here could print them out on cheap business card stock and leave them on Yarii as we see them. It is a cheap and easy way to get more folks on the forum...

Oh, and I forgot to add that there are at least two other Yarii in my neighborhood, a beautiful blue three-door LB just down the street from me, and another black three-door LB with the factory mag wheels on it a few blocks away. That one is a little more beat up...

Okay, I'll bite. Highly unlikely that this person is on the forum but there is a black Yaris that lives in Missouri City area and attends First United Methodist Church in Mo City. Holla at me if its you I'm talking about.

Was passed by another black LB this morning on 151 going towards downtown, it came off 1604 behind me. It was dark so all I could tell was that it had the factory wheel covers (what we old folk call hubcaps) on it.

I waved as it went by, but I don't think the driver was looking...still, always cool to see another Yaris!

Oh, and I got some cards made up over the weekend, just stole the YW logo at the top of the forum and added some info. I'll start dropping them on the Yarii I see around town, maybe we'll get some more SA Yaris drivers on here!

Actually, the black LB I saw yesterday passed me again today (he must be peddling a lot harder than I am!). The driver still didn't look when he passed, but I noticed it was a four-door LB so it had to be an 09.

The local NAPA Auto Parts store near me uses a Yaris as a delivery vehicle, but it has no advertising or markings on it. I saw a LB from Olmos Pharmacy that was marked, it was pretty cool...

We occassionally go up to the NB area, and of course one of these days we need to get around to our YW Meet & Greet up in Gruene...

I know for a fact that there is a Houston police officer that lives in my area and drives an Absolutely Red LB. In fact, once in a while when we catch each other on opposites sides, I'll honk and he'll wave back. He's freaking cool!

Also, there was a Silver stock LB at the Java Dave's coffee shop where I sometimes go to study. I nodded and he nodded back. Its all good!

On my way out of Castroville this afternoon (around 2:30pm) I passed another black LB with blacked-out emblems going towards the town on RR 471. I waved and got a wave back! :thumbsup:

About a half hour later, I stopped to take a couple of pics with some longhorns in the background...

i like the 5 spokes. gonna put my 14" 5 spoke Kosei's back on as soon as i wear out the tires on my 15's.
just a little paranoid i'm going to damage the 15's in the line of duty when i want to save them for something sporting when I retire the yaris from its job.

Actually, I bought Sprocket new with those wheels on it. The 17" wheels are not quick, but the Raptor tires grip like crazy so whereas I am not fast, I can maintain speed in corners quite well. On RR 471 from Castroville to Helotes, there are numerous 90 degree and sweeping curves, making it a fun drive without going too far over the speed limit. The local Constables have a tendency to patrol it a lot, so only being 5-10 over keeps me out of trouble...

PK, I am beginning to think there are more Yarii running around here than I first thought!

On my way home this afternoon, around 1:15pm I spotted another black 3-door LB heading southeast on 151 just past where it connects to 1604. It had stock wheel covers and tinted windows. I waved but the road is divided and they were too far away for me to see if they waved back!

I dropped my first YarisWorld card on a black Yaris that I saw at a Chevron station over at Bandera Road. I think the owner works there as I see it parked in front of the store all the time. Now the waiting begins to see if they make it to this forum.

And while going for a walk last evening, my wife and I saw a red Yaris in our neighborhood. That makes for four total including mine in a neighborhood of about 2000 homes. Nothing compared to the number of Mazda 3s or Ford F-150s, but it's a start!

the only yaris in my neighborhood is a sedan about 4 houses down. Other than that, very few yarii driving around. I've seen a couple a walmart. one was white, it had a drop and rims on it, but couldn't catch up to him before he drove off lol.

I dropped another card this afternoon, a black LB with 17" rims on it parked at the Lutheran church up the road from me. It's parked there all the time, must work there.

Saw a blue 5-door going through the neighborhood when we walked down to pick up our youngest from school. I do like that color!

Was on the training side of Lackland Air Force Base today (where Air Force Basic Training is conducted) and saw a black LB who also saw me and flashed his lights. I waved in return, and saw his Boerne Toyota license plate ring. I wanted to try and pass him a YarisWorld.com card, but didn't get the opportunity...

I live in Rosenberg and I see a red Yaris hatchback anytime I drive down 90 between Sugar Land and Rosenberg. If you're on here, let me know. I also see a black one that drives around the Brazos Ranch town center.

Certainly not by choice! That actually happened back in the August of 2007 after I'd only managed to put about 400-500 miles on the Red Dwarf. Even after the repairs (which were extensive, and took a few weeks), I sometimes forget that even happened. :)

Red Dwarf indeed! It's one of my favorite shows ever, and it's why I wanted the Yaris in Abs. Red when I got it. In fact, even though I'm moving to Seattle in 6 weeks, I just ordered up some personalized Texas plates (a few days ago) that proclaim the name ;)

I put out 2 YW cards on a pair of liftbacks yesterday on the way home.

The first one was a silver 3dr really close to my work at Windcrest and Tennyson Rd in Plano.

The second one was a silver 5dr in the parking lot of Chase Bank at 75 and Spring Creek in Plano.

Hey M2 did it have anyother badges on the back? Because user name JT258 has a white one with exhaust. He doesn't really post online much he's mostly a "watcher". He lives in Houston but you never know when someone might make a road trip.

Nope, just the Vitz badge under the Toyota emblem; but I sent a PM to JT258 and found his email address in one of his posts so I will check to see if it was him! The car was pretty dirty so having driven from Houston would explain that.

I've driven by the same Chilis on a few occasions and have looked for it again, but I haven't seen it.

Lil Red, although I see a fair amount of Yarii around here (there are three LBs in my neighborhood alone!), and I've left cards on a few of them; I don't think there are many YW members in SA.

We still need to have a central Texas YW meet! Greune would work great!

Arlington, Texas here....right in the shadow of the big monstrous new home of the Arlington Cowboys. It's not unusual to see three Yarii parked at the little mexican restaurant I eat at all the time. Not sure who the owners are but I'm workin' on it!!

Mine is bone stock, too, and will remain so as I enjoy the OEM look and the ride height works much better than my previous car for all the weird dips and gutters in the roads around here. I have come to hate the sound of scraping bodywork.

Hello folks.. Wow.. Some dedication to the Yarii watch eh?

I live in North Fort Worth/Keller area.. Since I spend most of my day on the road scooting around the DFW are on various service calls for my company I see a Yaris every few miles. We apparently are following the trendsetters.. (or would we be the trendsetters?)

Well you've got one more San Antonio Yaris on here! Mine's not anything special.. just got it last december so i havent had much time, money, or luck with getting anything new put on her just yet. :P

I may not know much at all about the engines or suspension or anything like that but I'd love to learn. I'm starting to find it all fascinating. :D

Hello (or is it Howdy?) and welcome to the forum :smile:

You can always ask the admins in the "suggestions" section, but they may or may not do it. If they don't, you could always have the "Official Texas / Houston thread" or "Official [insert state / town here] thread" like they do in the main sections to keep topics grouped together?

Hope you guys don't mind, but I cleaned up the thread some so you can go back to talking about Yarii. :burnrubber:

I can be spotted mostly in the 410/ I-10 or 410/ 281 area and occasionally ill drive out to school UTSA-1604. Easily noticed by the "Jack" sticker on on the upper-right side of he rear window, or the red rims on the stock steelies, and if you get close enough my "RS" badge.

I've been driving the Yaris to work all week (giving the Jeep a break since the weather has been dry). Like I think I said, I mostly am on the Braun/1604 to 151 to 410 to Military route and back (my commute to Lackland).

We haven't seen Yarrris-Wench on here for two weeks, I hope school hasn't been so hectic for her that she hasn't been able to get to YW on occassion. As soon as the weather gets a little warmer, we'll start planning for SA YW Meet II!

Thanks, it was a masters in Strategic Intelligence through American Military University. It was all done online, and my company paid for tuition so I really couldn't turn down the opportunity.

My first masters was in Information Systems through Bowie State, paid for by the Air Force when I was in. That one was mostly classroom work, with one class online if I recall correctly.

My undergrad degree was in geography of all things, that one I completed at a regular university (UF). I had VA benefits as I had already served in the Air Force beforehand, and had completed some courses while I was in.

I am a huge advocate of educational opportunities, especially when someone else is paying for it! School, and traveling, are the best ways to expand your horizons...

In our quick conversation (while I was handing him a YW card), he said he was aware of this site and that he needed to get back on here; so I suspect he's registered but have no idea under what name. I hoped posting the pics and vid would entice him to be more active with those of us "in the 210" :biggrin: but so far there's been no sign of him... :cry:

Maybe my dirty Yaris cracks are scaring him away! :tongue:

Spotted two out of the ordinary Yarii yesterday while out in the Jeep. The first was a black hatch at 1604 and 151 with its hubcaps (a.k.a. wheel covers) painted gold. It looked pretty good but would look even better if the badges were done in gold as well..

Sorry for the lousy pic, it was taken via my phone, through my Jeep windshield (which is always dirty), facing towards the sun and I wanted to get a pic before the light turned green!

Looks to have 18" wheels and I've seen a similar spoiler put on by a local Toyota dealer (Red McComb's). It needs tint, if you ask me; but otherwise it was pretty sweet looking.

Unfortunately, I had no YW cards to drop. I really need to put some in my Jeep, as I see more Yarii when I am in it than when I am out and about driving Sprocket.

OK, around 3:45 this afternoon we were heading west on IH-10 and what I think was a Meteorite Metallic Yaris LB came whipping past and cut in front of us just before the Leon Springs exit. It had wheels and was dropped, and was running dual centered exhaust tips. Traffic was heavy and I tried to get the driver's attention as we passed after he exited, but I don't think they saw us. It has some decals on that I couldn't make out in the brief instance that we had a visual on the car, and I didn't recognize from this forum but I thought I'd ask. It's almost hard to believe that someone who modded their Yaris wouldn't be on here...

I think last November i saw a modded red liftback when i went to get some Chipotle. I waited for the Chinese guy to come out w/ his friends..and asked if he ever heard of YarisWorld..his response "No, not sure what that is"....

He had the MicroImage grill on the front, he HAD to have got it here or on MI forums....

Yep, he had Vitz badges; so it must be the same dude. Too bad he drives so fast, otherwise I'd wave him down and pass one of my YW cards to him!

I've lived in Longview for several years, but didn't have a Yaris then ;)

Was driving home in the Jeep from work yesterday when I saw something behind me that looked interesting...

Unfortunately, he was turning onto Lackland AFB at a gate I had already passed, so I took the next turn onto the base and went looking for it. After about 20 minutes I gave up, and was heading off base when I saw it again in the parking lot. Here are the pics...

Was passed (I was in my Jeep) but a red Yaris with black mags on it and an exhaust system this morning about 5:45am just south of Marbach on 410. Whoever you are, you were scooting! I think I've seen it around that area before, but couldn't keep up. As far as I could tell, he was still heading south on 410 when I took the Medina Base Road exit.

I think it might have been the red one in my post from 11-09-2010 (post #68), but I don't recall if this one had the same wing on it. Actually, I suspect it was, as it was in the same area where I first saw this car.

I think I saw this same car, or one like it, again today. I was in IH-10 overpass just north of downtown and saw it on one of the roads below (I think it was Culebra). This was probably around noon.

I love the Yaris hatch in red, it looks good mod'd up! :headbang:
