Jezz u got it cheap

i got mine like 21k on road.... :(

ASHRAF
07-15-2007, 02:07 PM
21k

your car is yr or yrs?
3 or 5dr
man or auto

and I agree with u
the paint protection is waste of money ( I did it too :( )

Edd
07-15-2007, 06:26 PM
How much is paint protection and what does it do/look like?

I won't be getting one for awhile, but I'm thinking of 5 spd YRX manual, Caribbean blue, Safety package...
Does anyone know how much the Talon wheels are if you get them instead of the stock 15" alloys? They are the same size, both alloy, so I'd imagine that it shouldn't be too much more.
Also, what's the cost of mats?

hasher22
07-15-2007, 07:38 PM
mine is a 3door YRS Auto........

stupid addons........

carribean blue..thats the common blue right?..........

Edd
07-15-2007, 08:21 PM
I meant to say 5 door in my post. I used to think the 3 door looked strange the way the window looks at the back, like something was missing, but it's grown on me. The only reason I want 5 door is because 3 door cars can be difficult to get out of in tight parking spaces (longer doors). If anyone could measure their front door length on both 3 and 5 door models I'd appreciate it.

Caribbean blue (AU) = blazing blue (US). So yeah, it's the common one. I also like black, red/cherry and tuscan sunset/copper orange.

Speedz

Mate its a man tranny makes it even more of a rip off eh...? lol

Anyway paint protection are trash really... the best you want to spend on is probably sound deadening package... really makes a difference...

Lexus LS460
Cadillac Escalade EXT

and as soon as I get back home, I'll buy a decent car

something weired
the YRX is more expensive than the corolla
was this always the case?

Speedz
07-24-2007, 12:01 PM
YRX top model is more expensive than a base model Rolla... hmmm

Sounds about right given YRX have alloys and kit etc... a slight advantage over the Rolla base model...

Sort of blurs the line where the Yaris and Rolla stands in pricing eh...

X5...? lol footballer's ride... other than that looks good especially the diesel range... 1000km before refueling.... once the engine is run in...

I absolutely dislike the current beemer series from top to bottom Chris Bangle just messed up the whole damn brand...

Wouldnt mind a Lexus too coz my dad drives a IS200 she's got the pace and the looks plus its very stable when I'm doing 190/km at 4 in the morning.... something my Yaris would give me a heart attack when I went near 140/km once...

Cheers

07-25-2007, 04:46 AM
Speedz .. partially agreeing with you. most Beemers are bad looking now. Other than the X5 andthe recently released series 1 coupe.

i did went to up 160kmph once for about 2 hrs long when i drove from Canberra to Sydney at 4am this april.

TO MY SURPRISE.I USED ONLY one bar from the fuel tank. a big big difference from a tank when i drove at 110kmph in the day time

Edd
08-12-2007, 05:27 AM
I'm unlikely to get a Yaris for ages, but I got a quote. Does this sound like a good deal?
• 5 dr Manual Hatch, YRX
• Metallic paint (Caribbean blue)
• Enhanced safety pack
• Dealer delivery, Stamp duty, Registration and CTP
For just under $23 000

Speedz
08-12-2007, 07:40 AM
Nah...

Try another dealer for a better deal... I think you can at least get them off stamp duty or dealer delivery...

Edd
08-12-2007, 06:13 PM
Well dealer delivery was $995, but they put a 'less discount' of $1300 just before the sub total. So that effectively makes dealer delivery and registration free.

Speedz
08-12-2007, 10:26 PM
That still comes to 23k?

How much is the airbag pack....? 700 bucks? You might want to opt for a sound deadening deal too... coz the car does get noisy...

Edd
08-12-2007, 10:36 PM
Yeah it's $750. Looking at the car's RRP on the toyota site, it doesn't look too bad a deal.

ASHRAF
08-12-2007, 11:47 PM
I think u got ur self a good deal

try to ask another dealer to see if they can do any better offer

but 23k for a YRX (why not YRS and PIMP the f*** out of it???)

or you can go for a YRS and turbo it

It's all up 2 you mate and the YRX is sweet, but that was only my opinion

cYa

Edd
08-13-2007, 03:34 AM
That's fair enough. It's because like the YRX interior trim, bodykit and spoiler, the alloys are reasonably nice and it would add up to too much for me to buy all that plus fogs separately then add it myself. I still have plenty of mod ideas to add as I go (aluminium pedals and gear knob, fin/short antanna, Pioneer DEH-P7950UB stereo or similar, gas strut for the bonnet, painting disc brake calipers plus whatever else I can think of to finish it off).

ASHRAF
08-13-2007, 04:50 AM
That's cool

if that's waht you are after, than the YRX is the best choice

don't forget to add pics as soon as you get ur car

It looks nice....but only manual available ~

Edd
08-13-2007, 09:15 PM
Yeah I've seen the type R. It looks fantastic to say the least. Reading reviews though, apparently its powerband is high in the rev-range. Bit disappointing if you need to rev the life out of it to get anywhere. :frown:

Speedz
08-13-2007, 10:08 PM
Apparently all VTec engines are like that... more or less same as the VVLi... I saw yellow one in Westend few weeks ago... not bad looking at all...

Goes like a normal 2.0L when u driving it gently and turns to a beast once you revs pass 4000rpm

ASHRAF
08-14-2007, 12:06 AM
45k for the civic type-r :D

that's quite alot I think

if I'll pay this much, I'll pay lil' more and buy a presara instead (Luxury freak)

the civic type-r is nice but I'm a toyota fan, and I'll be for ever (I think)

watabout a 'import' Toyota Chaser... hmmm

Edd
08-14-2007, 02:09 AM
I suppose the one advantage of the higher power band is that you can short shift (<2500rpm) your daily driving for the best fuel economy, then shred it when you need power.
It's interesting that you mentioned it jaspie. It's a good $20 000 above what most of our budgets are here with Yarii. Although I'd definitely consider one when I actually have a stable income and my own place.
EDIT: Gorgeous... (http://www.honda.com.au/wps/wcm/connect/Honda.com.au/Home/Showroom/Civic+Type+R/Gallery/)

ASHRAF
08-14-2007, 11:22 AM
cabs don't use presara, they may use AT-X I think
never saw a "aurion cab in WA" anyway

Presara is totally different IMO

and taxis don't get black pimped out ones

Edd
08-15-2007, 01:59 AM
lol, aren't taxis usually ford flatcons and holden commonwhores? If you're lucky they might be a corolla/camry though...

Speedz
08-15-2007, 03:53 AM
In brisbane... we have Avalons, Aurion, Honda Odyssey (current updated model) & Tarago for taxis in their respective class...

Other than that yeah Falcons & Dores are the norm...

ASHRAF
08-15-2007, 09:27 AM

can I work as a taxi driver in Bris.

Speedz
08-15-2007, 09:35 AM
Sure can... they constantly looking for taxi drivers and here is much safer than Sydney or Melbourne... lol

But seriously i was disappointed when i saw a Aurion taxi even though its a base model AT-X, and was kinda surprised when i saw a Odyssey 'mini cab' with 'that' row of led tail lights...

I paid 18800 for mine
YRS 3dr Manual in black with

saving of around 2500$

cant wait for it to come! 5 more days! and its almost been 3 months :(

Speedz
08-25-2007, 09:21 PM
yeah the safety pack sets you back for the wait... but u cant go wrong with 7 airbags...!!!

Masteraal
08-25-2007, 09:37 PM
yea its worth the wait for a superior product... my friend was begging me to get the new Mazda 2 when it comes out but i hope to god its not as good as the Yaris so i wont look like an impatient idiot
hah

firez3r0
08-25-2007, 10:25 PM
mine was a different case, the dealer told me the 7 airbag was the only one they have for the silver yrs sedan so i took the option but somehow the person didn;t charge me for that w/o the consent of the manager. haha but i guess i got totally ripped off for paying 22300 for a yrs sedan AT w 7 airbag and a tint and mat.

Masteraal
08-25-2007, 10:46 PM
well if you got the same discount i did you'ld have paid around 21200 so for that price u have got it would have been about 1500 off RRP. i reckon the yaris is a tad expensive for what you get. but i guess itll come handy at the other end when you sell it as itll hold a lot more of its value than the other competition :)

Hi, how are we all? yes i am a new member of this website and definately from sydney australia and a proud female owner.

I got a white 5 dr YRX in auto, which i paid 26k for it comes standard body kit, rear spoiler, floormats and what ever the standard YRX got, I ask them not to tint my car... so tinting not included

And on top of that i've already spend $1500 on a 17" bronze rims with 6 spokes with a little dish, $220 for 20% tint all round, $1000 to lower the car 2inches all round with YEIN coilovers. Next assignment will be the scissor doors, XENON lights, eye Lids and carbon fibre bonnet and MIGHT consider in re-trimming the seats and side doors in black and white leather, which wil be completed by the end of the year,

System inside i left it as it is.

Thanks!!!
