First Annual YarisWorld Nationals/Import Alliance T-shirt design contest!

All right guys, as you might have heard, the upcoming Import Alliance in Nashville is gonna be huge, and will also be the perfect occasion for the first ever YarisWorld Nationals!

So this means some T-shirts are needed to commemorate!

My man Mike (aka KCALB SIRAY) has asked me to get some ideas rolling about this, here's what's gonna happen.

This will be a design contest for artwork related to this meet. In other words, it must include the following:


Date (July 25-26, 2009)
Place (Nashville Superspeedway in Lebanon, TN)
Include something universal for both LB and Sedan in the design
The words "First Annual YarisWorld Nationals"
Import Alliance name


Other logos (sponsors, YW) will then be added to the final design.

The requirements are no more than 3 colors, so nothing fancy required! I know we have some awesome graphic designers here, so get your creative juices flowing!

The winning design will be chosen in an open poll, and will receive a free t-shirt and a $50 Visa check card!

I'm not a designer, but an idea I have for the back is to make it look like a concert tour shirt..you know, at the top say something like Yaris World Summer Meet 2009 and then going down on the left our screen names and on the right the city and state we're from.....

Just remember to use a resolution of 300dpi in order for the digital copy to transfer perfectly to print.

Sux, I had a shirt done 70% there, then my battery died without me knowing, causing me to lose progress, then it wouldnt charge. SO I had to return my new laptop and get a replacement on warranty, so I lost all my images to build the photoshop, and lost progress and need to reinstall photoshop...lol, back to step 1.

The imaging on Kustom's style is more of what we are looking for....simple designs easliy done. The process to be used is a silk screening process. Keep in mind that a white shirt will be the easiest to work on colors. It will not be a vinyl style shirt. Colors like white on a red shirt take extra steps during the run in order not to come out pink in the end. Ink colors and color of shirt will be based on the design and the complexity. I'm diggin the designs so far, keep them coming. :headbang:

I was planning on doing a design with both for another submission

as far as shirt color as long as the colors that are chosen can look nice on other color shirts i could do a rainbow of shirt colors.. so there are options :)

well here is too much that needs to be on the shirt to jumble it all on the front.

the alliance and speedway should definitely be on the sleeves and all the sponsors can go on the back so that you dont lose the impact of the front image.. which the main idea is to REP YW .. not the other businesses

Great news! I just got the go ahead from Tim over at Sparks to use their logo on the shirt. Still waiting to hear back from NST and I just sent Gary (kargoboy) a note to see if Yarisuniverse.com wanted to be one the shirt as well. These guys/gals really do offer some great parts for us and I'm glad they have given me permission to use there logos.

The one with the red yari is great. You may have not meant to do so, but the spacing and angle of the two cars is like a triangle which is what the import alliance symbol is. Or maybe being up late is making me see things...


Oh and white is the best color. Last year I heard it was hot so no black shirts for me

It should also be noted that I do not have full approval on the logo's from ImportAlliance yet as well as a few others, so the design will be tweeked if needed.
