Hi guys,

I have 2006 HB and recently stopped getting oil changes from the Toyota when the 60,000K warranty expired. I have now 77,000K in my Yaris (3 times oil changes from other shops).

I always watch how these guys are changing my oils and never did they reset anything as well as remove battery terminals. Just remove drain plug and filter, drain oil, replace plug and filter and fill about 3.5 liters of oil.

Up to now, my Maintenance service light did not turn on. Is there something wrong with my car?

(My service light is okay because I see it light up everytime I turn the key on and disappears when the engine is running).

Thanks guys!

Are you watching them when they get back into your car? Only takes a few seconds to reset the light when they go to restart the car and back it out. Light recycles every 5K miles.

Maybe the service light is coming on for other than oil related reasons,Is the service light the same as our check engine light?

They do not enter the car at all. I am the one who always start the car after filling the oil. Battery is also not disconnected.

Maybe you don't have a "service reminder" or "maint reminder" light? The Canadian models of the Yaris do not have one...
