Hi Everyone,
I am to do a Cash Deal, no financing or trades on a 2009 Yaris 3 Door Automatic Hatchback. I just want the Convenience Package and Keyless Entry, no Power Package or anything like that. I am going to do a bidding war soon between about 50 dealerships as I live close to VA, DC, MD and PA so there are alot of toyota dealerships around here. I have been quoted $13,300 OUT THE DOOR with Taxes Tags and such. I am going to try to get them down to $12,500 Out The Door. Anyone think this is a good deal? Any advice for me? Thanks so much and I will be sure to download pictures on here in a few days when I get it!!!:headbang::help:

First, don't think you can get keyless entry without the power package. Better double check that with the dealers.
$13,300 sounds like a pretty good deal to me, but it never hurts to try.

Good Luck!
Just out of interest, how much time will be involved in negotiating with 50 dealers? And will the projected $800.00 savings be worth the time invested?
I had a hard time finding the time to drill two local dealers when I was shopping.

I would think you would need the power package to unlock the door for the keyless entry. But if all you wanted was the remotes I’m sure they can dig some up for free that no longer work to give you.

I am just going to email as many Toyota Dealers within 100 miles of me and narrow the list down to lowest prices they offer out the door, then email them back and forth with the other dealers best price and if they can beat it, and do that until they both fold out. I have nothing but time to spare on this. :-)

My Yaris doesn't have the power package but the dealership added keyless entry with alarm, so there is always that option. It's an aftermarket part, though, doesn't say Toyota on it.

What others have posted about the Remote keyless entry system are correct. Factory keyless entry requires the Power Package. If you want Remote keyless entry, you will have to go with an after market system.
Another thing is that every Yaris in the VA, DC, MD and PA region will be equiped with the All-Weather Guard Package.
To get what you want, you are looking at a car optioned out with the All-Weather Guard Pack, The Convenience Pack, Power Pack, and the Remote keyless entry. At this point you might as well add the Fog lamps and Cruise control and buy a fully optioned car.
Good luck with your new Toyota Yaris.

I basically did the same thing. Cash deal and got mine for $14,700 out the door (3D, auto, with power package). I'm sure you can get them do do $13K even, if not better, without the power package.
Good luck!

12.5K all-in, I hope you're kidding. They'll laugh at you on your way out.
Power package is required for true factory keyless. Aftermarket solutions are available for MUCH cheaper.

For the 2009 3 dr. hatchback with only the convenience package and keyless entry, Edmunds.com shows MSRP of $14635, Invoice of $13871, and True Market Value of $14216, but there is a $1000 cash incentive in effect from 3/3 - 3/31/09, bring the TMV down to $13216. But I agree with those who say you can't get a car in your area without the cold weather package which adds $110 at MSRP and $88 at Invoice.
Don't know about taxes and tags. In my state you don't pay the dealer for those, but rather pay them to the State Dept. of Revenue when you register your car and apply for title and plates.
Remember that the Stimulus package approved by Congress has a provision that allows a tax deductions (even if you don't itemize) for sale tax on a new car purchase in 2009.

I am not sure what your tax rate is but out the door for $13,300 sounds like a great price. 50 dealerships sounds like a lot. 5 would be a good number. Loss leaders from the newspaper ads might be some of the lowest prices you can find.

its possible to get the dealer to install the fogs, but itll cost you and itd probably be cheaper to do it yourself if you can.. from what i hear the install isnt too bad

PaGuy, If you pay more then $12,800 out the door for the Yaris model and features you speak of, then you are getting screwed. My daughter just bought the model you speak of in Orange County, CA and out the door it was $12,798.52 cash.
The poster that paid $14,000+ got ripped!!!

Those numbers are meaningless because they do not consider confidential deals between the factory and the dealer. In OC, California, Yaris with convenience & power packages go out the door for less then the so called factory invoice routinely. The people here that pay more are the idiots that don't know how to deal with dealers.
I know, because we have 3 Yarii in our family.
