There is TRD, which you must import (expensive side) and KAAZ, which I run in my car (less expensive side). I am very happy with the one in my car.

Whats difference LSd 1 way & 1,5 way?

1-way only works during acceleration, 1.5 way works also with deceleration.
I THINK.

It only works half in deceleration. Hence 1.5.

I know on my chevy pickup the posi rear is a life saver in the snow.
Would it be a safe bet that the TRD LSD for the Yaris would be a big advantage in the snow ?

It would be, but being a FWD car, the Yaris should get around okay in the snow, anyway. Good snow tires would probably be a better investment. Without them, even with an LSD... you'd just be spinning two tires instead of one. (which is arguably more dangerous as you'll lose ALL directional control)

Limited slip on the front wheels on ice and snow can be scary with tons of understeer, and plowing, I hated it. For not loosing speed at an autocross when one wheel lifts and the other wheel losses power, get the limited slip, if its for winter driving as mentioned above get good winter tires.

Just make sure that when you change the diff that you purchase a new speedometer gear before you install the new diff . In case that you break the old one when removing it . Its cheap and could be a hell of a time saver . That is assuming that the Yaris speedo gear is made from plastic

check the classifieds, someone is selling a TRD one for around $650 i think and you can sometimes catch them on ebay for cheap money. Also remember the AE101 differentials fit as well. But if you do need one that is not used, i would recommend MicroImage all the way. Make sure you research the type you want, being helical, clutch, etc
