If I don't have class or some exam, I might actually make it.

Hey folks,
I'd love to come down for one of the events so long as it's early in the day and I've got enough time to drive back to Dallas that night.
Please keep us posted on events,
S.R.

Regarding the trip to Houston on Sunday, May 24th, for the NST event:
For those of you in the DFW area, if you'd be interested in meeting Sunday morning before the trip, there's a bunch of gas stations and fast food joints at 45 and Palestine Rd in Hutchins, Tx.
The address of the McDonalds is 108 N I-45, Hutchins, Tx, 75141.
Let me know if you're interested in meeting here Sunday morning so that we can all drive down together.
Thanks,
S.R.

Most of our Houston meets these days revolve around NST drift days/demos. Check some of the other threads and keep an eye on this section of the forums for future meets.
By the way, NST is in the Galleria area as well. Feel free to stop by

Anyone know what class a yaris with a removed back seat would be in? No one seems to be able to give me an answer because of the seat removal (which i am NOT putting back in).

removed rear seats = SM.....
might want to put them back in, the weight savings isn't worth it!

well i respect your opinion, but it has been the largest gain in performance over anything I have seen in person. It is a totally different car. If its between leaving it out and autox, will just not do autox. It NEEDS to be out in my opinion. Although thats just an opinion. AutoX may not be for me, thats what I am trying to find out. It looks fun, but if you are put into a hotrod class b/c you take the seat out I can probably say I will not agree with the rest of the rules... but I am old school, 1/4mi strips with the biggest engine so i am getting used to all this... last car I helped on got 17gpm, not mpg...lol

im not sure with basically a stock car with just the seats removed. at the houston axs i was put into stf. i removed my rear seats, asked if that changed my classing, and it still didnt. im not sure if your mad scientist intake would count against you or not either. really the only way to know what class you would be in is to go to the next event and ask one of the techs. next event is dec. 6

The rear seat removal might put you into a class that is more difficult than with the seat, but if you just want to autox and get experience in driving your car at the limits, then don't worry about it. At a local event, there won't be many in a given class anyway. Just show-up and run. If you are driving well, your times will reflect it, regardless of class. If you think you could actually be winning your class, then put the seat back in.
Also, different clubs have different classing rules. SCCA is the pickiest, BMW/Porsche events tend to be extremely lenient.
