Today I saw something shiny in the road, pulled over, and picked up a working set of pliers.
What have you found while driving?

Usually potholes. But occasionally I'm with Thomas - nirvana. Just takes the right road and the right day.

I was driving my Mazda one day I heard something rattling in my engine compartment. I pulled over fearing the worst and as I lifted the hood up a screw driver fell to the ground out of the engine bay. I didn't recognize it from my set of tools but I believe it came from the Penzoil where I got my oil changed.
I also found a hub cap in the middle of the street one time while riding with Qmobile, we found it at a stop light and I was tempted to get out of the car and pick it up and act ecstatic about finding it, but I decided not to.

Nothing in the Yaris. While following a paint contractor he had a 24 foot extention ladder fall off his truck. Dam near ran over it. Good thing I was driving my truck. It's mine now.

I found an old tire in the middle of the road this morning on the way to work. I stopped at the stop light, looked to my left and it was sitting just past the railroad tracks where the road dips down and an unsuspecting car with no ground clearance could find it the hard way. It was across the intersection so I couldn't move it though.

I haven't found anything ... but my dad left his car on the side of the road with the title signed and a note that said "if you can fix it, you can have it". It was a 1965 Thunderbird. He kicks himself in the ass everyday for not fixing it on the side of the road. It was '74 and he was on his way to be deployed, so he didn't even want to deal with it at the time. He made someone VERY happy that day.
My dad = pnwd
*the years might be one or two off - it was a few years ago when he told me that story ... I can't remember if he joined the Navy in 74 or 75

Bugs usually. Sometimes a pedestrian or two...
And yesterday a pair of brand-spanking new iPod earplugs in the empty parking space next to me at Costco. Didn't need them, but it doesn't hurt to have spares

I saw, and dodged, a rusty old cross pein sledgehammer head while driving. Thought it was a rock and didn't recognize it for what it was till I went back for a walk. Cleaned it up, installed a handle and have a good 5 lb. hammer.
