Yaris-like coupe

I saw a Toyota today that looked a lot like my Yaris but it was a 2-door coupe. Before I bought my Yaris I checked and could find no reference that a coupe was ever made, what model would this have been ?

the only recent coupe that i can think of from Toyota is the Solara.

in the same level of the yaris, the last one they made was a Tercel coupe and an Echo coupe..

Thats what it was a Solara, but I see this is a much heavier expensive car . Glad I went with the Yaris.

It lacks a nice thai spoiler, a body kit, and definatly needs to be a different color than Bayou. Not hating on the color...just doesnt suit those rims.

The scion TC looks a lot like the yaris sedan. Especially from the back. Even the same color.

No its a liftback.

coupe = 2 doors and a trunk
sedan = 4 doors and a trunk
LB/HB = 2 doors and a hatchback
stationwagon = 4 doors and a hatchback (sorry 5dr LB. :biggrin:)

at least that's how I always looked at it.

(It's Pacific Blue in the sedan world but Toyota would obviously make them in more than one color)

And that is probably too similar to a Tc to bother making in Toyota's mind


It was also found that by chopping the top a little it turns into a car very similar to the Honda Civic coupe

I agree except that a hatchback is either a 2 or 4 door with an almost vertical rear hatch while a liftback is eiher a 2 or 4 door with an almost horizontal rear hatch.

A stationwagon differs from the 4 door hatchback because it has the rear pillar of a sedan but then has the third window behind that.

Interesting concept for a 4th Yaris model. IMO the coupe would look better if the rear-end wasn't so big and bulky
