1ZZ-FE throttle body. I think they go for $60, at least that's what i got mine for. Also you may want to get the Nitto mid-pipe, it would complement the axle back real nicely. Should see a lil' more power with those two mods and what you have

did you notice a power increase or just a lost of tq down low? think i might drive 2hours to get my car dyno today after i get off work at 2pm

How do you drive your car? There's probably some more top end power to be gained by replacing the exhaust between the header and axle, but it's probably only going to show up above 5500-6000 rpm. In the real world, that just translates to numbers. "My car makes 100 whp on the dyno". Big deal. Unless you're drag racing, mid-range torque and throttle response is far more important.

If you're looking for more "daily driving" torque, about the only thing left to do is a lightweight flywheel and start shaving weight from the car.

Trust me, removing rear seats and getting rid of useless junk from the rear, definatly makes the car feel faster.

In my case, I removed nearly 100lbs from the back because of my 60/40 split seats.
Saved maybe 6 lbs total by replacing the front seats with racing seats.
It all adds up.

Exactly:thumbsup:. Removing things like seats, carpet, sound insulation will make a difference. it won't necessarily make horsepower... the engine doesn't have to work as hard to get the car moving since your reducing it's mass

i drive my car as if it were fast... i use to drive a 00 Si after all so i am rev happy:burnrubber: Soo you sayin i would need a mid pipe? do they make one for SD? Removing the seats are not practical for me tho i like the idea. Just looking to make some N/A power before i go FI a couple months later

Loren

If your plan is to go FI, why not be patient and spend your $300 on something like a wideband O2 sensor rather than on something that might maybe net you 3 hp for a couple months?

Yoda
03-23-2009, 02:54 PM
.... you are right. Lets change that months to a year+ later lol

No need to go drastic on the weight shaving area...

Taking the rear seat out and installing them out is a matter of 15 min.

Is not like you won't be able to seat anyone on the back of your car ever again...

I've taken mine in and out about 3 times now. If I know I won't be carriying anyone for a while I just take them out. Is really easy.

If you have the 60/40 rear seats... those are REALLY heavy!

When I go out for a spirited drive I even take out the spare tire and jack (If I'm not going too far away from home )

You can definetely feel the difference....

When I remove the back seat and spare tire I have to adjust the rear coilovers as the car will raise the back like 1/2 or more...

"I drive my yaris like i had stole it!"LOL

If you install the 1ZZ-FE throttle body,
do u need a piggy back or any ECU changes???

hatchbackkid82

Nope after installing it just let the car idle for a little bit and it should re-learn the new throttle body. This is the case if you swpped over the chip that's in the TB as well. Really cheap mod $60 shipped. Hopefully you can find one for that cheap. don't know how much they go for on ebay

HOW MUCH OF A DIFFERENCE IN SIZE ARE THERE BETWEEN THE 1NZ &1ZZ THROTTLE BODIES. HOW MUCH POWER DIFFERENCE CAN BE SEEN?

I hate CEL's:mad: I love the the slight increse in power but hate seeing that lil' orange light on. This would be a great mod if there was some way to keep that check engine light off...already did the chip swap

In a N/A application, large changes of HP can be made with fluid changes. Look into that, I gained 15 WHP with a simple fluid change, not on the yaris mind you, but it could'nt hurt. (hint?-Redline)

try this on

I've been using a similar device but the one i'm using is made in thailand. it costs us only 4500 thb. for mine, better acceleration and truly improve fuel economy.

So with the Throttle body upgrade, what intake fits on that. I already have the factory AEM.

I got the AEM CAI and it fits with no problem.

This really makes a big difference, but you do get CELs.

You can find them on Ebay for @ $50.
