This might be better on the forced induction thread but NA engines can get benefits from water/meth injection too has anyone here attempted this? If so explain some of the details ie... kits used tech info gains in performance.

I think he's talking about methane injection, not methamphetamine.. lol

Methane injection... is that when you fart in the intake?

I think he means methanol.

ummmm you really wont see any gains without amping up the spark... Slapping it on a turboed car, sure, but an N/A. without tweaking, doubt it...

A humorous title proved to be too complex for most people......
He (and I for that matter) is/am wondering if anyone tried a water/meth injection system on a n/a yaris. Could work out very well and get great performance gains, granted you'll need a tuning but still...

Wow simple f-ing question has any one here tried water methanol injection and I get this sad shit for responses wtf. You guys need to grow up and thank you to the one guy who actually knew what I was talking about and offered some actual advice.

Do some reading on the Forced induction forum and soon you will find that the Yaris is stucked in the tunning department...
And with no tunning... no chance to take advantage of something like the meth injec.

Yeah Ive noticed these cars are like a performance dead ends unless you want to dump unbelievable amounts of money for not the worlds largest gains. Do they even make a way for you to talk to the ECU for engine management?

OP is the only one who gets to be funny? Lighten up. It's what happens when you ask those kinds of questions anyway.
There's minimal benefit (if any) in slapping on a water/meth injection kit on a n/a car, especially a Yaris (which the OP doesn't have anyay). It's $300 that could be much better spent elsewhere. It might possibly be useful if you had super high compression, but that brings up a whole bunch of other questions. Are you going to spend the money to build a high compression 1NZ motor? Who is going to make custom parts for you? Where are you going to get methanol from? Do you really think buying methanol all the time and filling up your little tank is easier than just using higher octane fuel? What are you going to tune it with? Are you going to spend $1500 on an AEM ecu and wire the whole thing up yourself? Are you going to have separate fuel map for the meth injection? How do you know the methanol mix is always going to be consistent and not throw off your tune? Are you going to dyno before and after and prove it's even worthwhile? I'm sure I could think of more, but you get the idea (I hope).

For methanol up here we use windshield washer fluid. for like $2/gallon you get a nice mixture of water/methanol

That answers my questions pretty simply: Its unfeasible.
Thanks

if your car has a nitrous kit installed, you will be able to benefit from a water/methanol injection kit.

Maybe.
Now for a serious answer. maybe.
Actually what I am going to say is that it would be beneficial. There are a few local guys who do NASA and HPDE events that have methanol or water injection. Some are turbo motors and some are NA. I have heard great comments about the setup. Most are noticing that it helps keep intake temps down during long stints at the track. So in theory, even with no other mods on the motor, you might not notice the gains, but wire up a temperature sensor and watch the difference. Heat soak is the number 1 power killer in any motor
