so heres the install:

http://www.4055design.com/yaris/wheel2.JPG

so install went rather smooth but.....

i didnt realize that the grant wheels are 5 bolt and all the hub adapters are 6
bolt :doah:

so i ordered a grant adapter ring and a new solid black horn button so problem solved

next question is how did you peeps who swapped your wheels turn off the air bag light

is there a fuse you can pull?

also which wire is the horn wire? i need to tap it and run it up into the hub

thanks in advance!

i picked up a generic toyota hub from ebay (8 bucks shipped!)

the good: works perfect looks good

then bad: you lose you auto turn off for you blinkers

i had to trim the plastic boot that came with the hub a little to make it nice and flush (really easy with an a-acto knife)

i found the grant wheel online

i found the 5 to 6 grant adapter and the horn button from summit racing

i have a momo hub on my MR2 and its the same way with the turn signal

over time i might swap the hub to something that allows me to keep the spiral cable so i can use the auto turn off ( i remember Garm saying one of the hubs will allow for this)

but its not bad for now and it works great

running a wire up through there that will then twist every time you turn the wheel is dangerous. I want to make sure anyone considering this mod understands the risks of using aftermarket hubs that don't use the clock mechanism.

Works Bell is the hub to get if you want a safe installation + turn signal cancellation.

With that said - Looks good!

the way to work around that is to tap the horn wire and run it through the hub leaving slack in the hub itself

it allows the wheel to turn without putting stress on the line (since you have extra slack in the hub)

thats how i have it set up on the MR2

but for the daily driver i might switch out hubs so i can use my spiral cable

ive been looking at the Works Bell set up but cant find one for the yaris

for the airbag light apparently you can connect a resistor across the original wires, though I am not sure of the details, think 03Z33 mentioned it a long time ago... Mine's on all the time and I just ignore it, I might just open up the cluster and block the light with a piece of black tape eventually

Oh and I gotta say, that pink steering wheel is HOT!

I've got a hot pink Strat that I think you need more than I do. It's much more pink in person.

Nice guitar, I want a strat, but even used they are all over 5 bills :(. If he got one, he'd have to put a 1/4" guitar cable input to the stereo like the jetta has(had?) for a while.

That's an awesome setup. Are the wheels painted or powder coated? I wonder what a Nardi wood-grain would look like installed...

is girlfriend on Scion Life and if so who....her car looks familiar.

for the airbags geta DMM and get a ohm reading fromt he connector,+on one pin and - on the other in ohms and see what it says, probably around 4-5ohms,install a matching resistor to the terminals in car,but first unhook battery and wait 5 minutes so all airbag charges are out,it may fix the light issue and make the car think airbag is still there,it works in our tC seats, have done 3 sets now and got them to turn off light and register person in passenger side, just never tried with steering wheel yet.
