Will seat covers affect the side airbags???

I am thinking of getting a really good leather seat cover kit, but I am worried the covers will impede or completely stop the side airbags from deploying. Is that true? Are airbag explosions just so powerful that it will break through anyway? Any ideas, or (knock on wood) anyone get a side impact with seat covers on and have/not have the airbags work?

You would need covers that are designed for it. Your best bet is the Clazzio ones that Micro Image carries, but I am sure there are others.
