Is it possible to have an power lock on the hatchback turnk?

I had power locks installed for me by the same company that installed my remote starter, however they did not connect it to the trunk, so if i don't lock it manually, if i close the doors, someone can still get it through the trunk lol! anyway to get that done? did anyone come up with a release switch to open a hatchback trunk?

My '09 HB with the power package has a powered lock for the hatch that locks and unlocks remotely.

yeah... a lot of shops will require you to buy an optinal pin sensor to have installed in the hatch area, then the $40 labor to install it.. so a hatch sensor will probably cost you $50 extra... its worth it I think, Also make sure there is a starter kill.

Auto-lock isn't hard.

i last had my echo hatchback... wires were already ran from the hatch lock to the interior...

it was kinda hard to install aftermarket actuators for the rear lock. so i went and bought the OEM lock motor (100$ at the dealer)

good point, OEM motors are the way to go... its possible to do an actuator on a wire cable, but from what i've heard, you probably will end up having to readjust from time to time because of it loosening up.

its basically a little piston that can push/pull and object. Generally you have to use two relays with them to make them work... You hit the button and 1 relay engages and you get a push... Hit the button a 2nd time and the other relay engages and you get a pull....and so on.

they are used for all sorts of things, auto locks being the most common, but also on stereo installs for amp racks.

Thanx for the explanation! I have a remote starter installed, and my power locks are connected with it, i had actuators installed for my doors since they were manual from factory. my question is: How can i program my remote starter to use my aux buttons on my remote for example, turn on or turn off the lights, honk a horn, or even roll down my windows (since i have my kit coming in for the manual to power windows conversion)
