For the last 3 months i have had this annoying rattle that sounded like it
was comming from inside the dash, Finally took it to Toyota Last week
and had them take alook at it while they where doing it's 30,000KM service.
Took them 5 hr's too sort the problem , but they won't tell me what they found
apart from one of the Rattles was a marble in the seat rail.
Sense then i have spoken too a couple of people at Toyota to see if they
could shead some light on the subject .
The result was they reacon it was the passenger air bag screws had fallen out
as this are not dune up tight ,so to allow airbag movement when it deploy's.
Any how it's all fixed now no more rattles and all covered by Warrenty
including the last of my free services
Thank you Toyota.

Nicee. My lever that adjust the seat to go forward or backwards rattles on the driver's side. There is nothing to tighten to make it stop, so I stick a small NERF foam ball in between the seat and the lever to prevent it from moving.

I also have a rattler in the dash. Directly infront of the spedometer, or somewhere around there.

The yaris's interior was cheaply made. The road noise is horrible and I feel like I am in a lexus when I am in my tacoma.

lol. i've had my car for a year and 8 months and have only noticed it on occasion. i wish i had known that toyota actually KNEW about it when i brought it in, though.. it's been in three times (two of which when the car was still under warranty) and was told all three times that, "oh, well the dash is made of plastic, so of course there's going to be some sort of rattle!" since the rattle came and went sporatically and it never really bothered me, i didn't pursue it any further.

Yeah the service guy that look at it 3 months ago said the same, but
this time round they where so impressed with the car, that they offered to look at it for free.
Who am i to turn down an offer like that

I've got so many rattles I don't know where to begin.
The dash, cup holders, seatbelt mounts. The list goes on and on.

Take it into the dealer and talk to them , the worst they can say is that
you are not covered under any warranty , or they might be really good about it like they where with me
and just have a look and fix it all for free.
you have nothing to loose and a lot to gain.

i don't have the ability to post pics right now. i noticed that while driving if i put my hand anywhere on the console around speedometer tach etc, that it would stop the squeaks and rattles. just the other day i was getting tired of it so i ripped off approx 1in by 1in sections of a napkin (toilet paper would prob work also) and shimmied them in between the gap of the clear plastic protector in front of the speedometer and the black plastic of the dash. i don't know if ours was the same problem but i do know that it took away 80% of the noises. im going to try to shimmie a couple more down there to see if it fixes it all. hope this helps a little and im sorry i cant post pics.

:thumbsup:Had our Yaris for 10 months and so far has not developed any rattles. Of course, it only has a little over 7000 miles on it and maybe in time, will rattle....but...so far so good.

Luckily I have no rattles in the Yaris. But my Scion tC had a couple of rattles that drove me crazy.

Yeah, I noticed the rattles get worse in winter, and go away mostly during the summer with heat/sun on the dash.

Other then that, I noticed after 20k miles that it started to happen. Currently at about 50k now, so you can see its getting very annoying. Especially here in pothole central NYC.

It seems Toyota is pretty secretive about any repairs. Any time I've taken mine in for some minor things, they always tell me "oh we didn't find anything wrong" but some how magically whatever the issue was, it went away.

One of the Technical Service Bulletins reads like it covers many of these issues.

Sounds like a lengthy disassembly and reassembly at the dealership so I can understand their lack of candor.

Earlier today, I tried the same thing using some pieces of black felt. It seems to have done the trick. Since the problem is sporadic, it will take some time to tell for sure.
