I don't really care for auto reviews and such, but I found this article pretty amusing:

Lysaght, 18, a University of Michigan freshman from Northville, griped that the Yaris "feels like a Chinese car. Everything seems cheap."

LOL

I don't think it's very credible to publish the comments of an 18 year old freshman who probably has never driven a Chinese produced vehicle, let alone set foot in China at all.

I have nothing against 18 year olds, or freshmans for that matter. But I do have something against people who make idiotic comments, and newspapers/journalists who decide to publish such comments.

considering the yaris has more than doubled the u.s. sales of the fit, i don't think the victory is honda's.

I have both these cars and Yaris is far the better car!

It leaves Honda Fit(Jazz in Europe) miles behind!!!

The problem with this article is that the people who are trialing the cars all drive F-150s or weight 300 pounds; plus they all hail from the motor city, home of the GM Suburban.

Of course they will have to justify their car sizes and the fact that a 2,200 pound car won't fit their fat asses.

Just the same as us justifying our car purchase, even though its a more rational purchase for one person commuting. I notice this every day when a single person drives past me during rush hour in a Escalade.

And yeah, that is a pretty idiotic statement to include in the article. I bet that person wouldn't even be able to list off a Chinese car maker. I also have a feeling they meant Korean cars only because I hear people say how cheap Hyundais seem all the time.

"I don't know anybody who would be happy in any of these," he said, surveying the cars from his seat at a picnic table. "I didn't get a good feeling driving any of them."

Anderson drives a 2002 Ford F-150 Harley-Davidson pickup.

"I still prefer a little luxury, regardless of fuel economy," she said, as she headed home in her 2004 Cadillac SRX

Uhhh yeah like this was ever going to go over well with reviewers who drive those vehicles. Might have well given them a Hyundai Accident or Chevy Aveoid-it/Daewouldnt-buy-it-you-paid-me-to, the results would have been the same. No matter how nice a small car is, you cant make a diehard SUV owner happy in a small car EVER.
In the words of TAAAAANK (Bobby Lee) I will P-P-P-P-PAAAAASSSSSS on that crappy review.

On the topic of the thread, that was the weakest review I have ever seen. Why would you get a 48 year old's perspective on a twentysomething's car? Yes, I know a lot of us aren't twentysomething's, but you can't argue that these cars are built for anyone else... not to mention this woman was driving an SRX. Is there a more opposite car? Seriously, I'm sorry but fuck all these idiotic car reviewers that are bashing the Yaris. The Yaris is what it is supposed to be... no more, no less. It is by far the cheapest of the three... thats the whole damn point. This review is almost as lame as the city it came from.
