When you have the knob at 0, is air supposed to be coming out a little from front the vents??
I am baffled that when I have it at 0, I assume OFF, I still need to set the temperature or else I start getting too hot or old. Its not a lot, its not blowing in my face, but there is air coming out when I put my hand in front of the vent.
Maybe it never completely turns off?
Or maybe this is why my gas mileage doesn't seem as great to me, my air is constantly on even when I don't need it?
Bascially is this normal or no, if not, does anyone else have this occur?
Yes I twist the knob completely to the left/to 0.

When the fan's on 0, it's an open vent with air pushed through by the motion of the car. Whether the Yaris' compressor runs then, I don't know.

If it's on fresh air mode, yes, you'll get a little flow. It's normal.

Just switch it to recirculation.

Try switching from the vent option on the bottom of that same knob from open (on the left) to re-circulation (on the right)...

Oh. Thanks haha! I knew about fresh air and recirculation modes, I just remember reading fresh air was better, recirculation was if you wanted to change the temp in your car fast. Didn't know it affected if air came out or not. I will switch it today =)

yeah but it will not affect your gas consumption...
even then, the small 12vDC fan cannot affect your gas consumption in any way...
my ex-gf never liked me putting it at 3 or 4 in the winter (for fast heat)... says it wastes electricity.

lol i usually just keep my vents open when i drive, i don't even put on the air only if i have to, the faster i go the more air comes from the vents and it kinda keeps me warm on cold days and cool on warm days lol.
