The new TC...is to be dubbed the TD, which is supposed to be a RWD platform using a Suby engine, but this of course is all on a drawing board.

Its expected to be a 2.5L Boxter running 200-210bhp.

At this point, who knows whats going down at the Scion camp.

This wasn't one of the best I've ever been at, but it was ok. The highlights were Ford, Chrysler, Scion, VW, Nissan, and the Micro car club in the lobby.
Ford showed the new Mustang (Ad Nauseam), but the convertible in red was really sweet. Lincoln had the nicest concept vehicle, very un-Lincoln like, more Scionish. Mazdas M5 and the RX8 are always worth stopping by. Chryslers Challenger was probably the nicest car I wouldn't want to buy, I loved it but I could never get in and out of a Chrysler product without hitting my head. Scion IQ... nuff said.I pissed off the rep who was answering the "How much and when" question with "It's just a concept"- I answered 2010 and 16,000. Scion was definitely the most creative section.
VW had the '64 bug from the commercials, with a motion activated voice track. The new Golf GTI was nice- one of the best long time participants. Nissans' Cube and the Kia Soul were interesting, very interesting. The Cube will be released in May.

Electric Lotus? That could be interesting. I always love seeing a nice 427 as well...

Both the tCs were ugly. Garm's is nicer than both...

The losers of the show were GM, Toyota, Subaru, Mini, and the Germans with the exception of Audi.
GM rested its entire show on the new Camaro- nice, but ho hum. The interior was lackluster, nothing different than you would expect from a cobalt, G6, or any other of their cars. I saw two SS Camaros and I think the others were the Berlinetta and the HF, complete with 4 cylinder engine (jk). Buick looks like it's going into the SUV exclusive business, with the exception of the LaCrosse (actually very nice). Pontiac should just die already. The Vibe was like sitting in a car built by circus clowns, evil circus clowns. Saab, Caddy, Saturn were meh. I still can't understand the attraction of the Escalade with the pick up back.
Toyota was boring- I could have gotten the same feeling walking into a dealership. At least Honda had a Mugen Fit. Subaru went with an all white theme- no excitement.

I'll get to the Germans after dinner

The "Lotus" was actually a Dodge/Chrysler Circuit concept- much nicer than the one Volt, "the car that has been ready for market since Ben Franklin invented electricity".

The Fighter TC was cool

Back to the Germans...

Mercedes displayed the SLR and right next to it the SLK with a SLR inspired nose. Really nice. The GL series was roundly shunned as the Chrysler product it was designed as.
BMW was. The only interesting BMW was the Isetta in the lobby. If I hear "That's Steve Urkels car!" again, I'll hurl:barf:. I had my daughter with me, and we decided to count the number of BMWs from the Javits Center to home,~ 20 ish miles. We hit 154. BMWs are so over.
Porsche should just take pictures of their cars and mail them in yearly. I know the cars change, but at least make them look different. And maybe, just maybe open one up and let people sit in them. Maybe they did... I couldn't tell. More on that later.

Jaguar is still one of the most beautiful cars built. It was a little weird seeing an Indian inspired cats head on the steering wheel badge. The Marine Corp Hummer was cool-BOOYAH!!!!- but the Marine emblem spinner rims were ludicrous. The Ford Traverse minivangon looks like a good niche product. There must be millions of them in Europe, made by Ford, Renault, VW and many others. Hopefully Euro style lorries will become big here. More room and better gas mileage FTW!

I've been going to the Autoshows for many, many years. If you go on the weekend, go early and see the "luxury" cars- Caddy, BMW, Mercedes, any sports car, convertible, or anything you would like to be seen in. Around noon, everyone who lives in the "projects" wakes up, and goes to the autoshow to sit in their dream. This is not a bad thing. However, when a family of 27, including babies and farm animals all have to sit and take pictures in every nice car at the show it sucks. Not to even mention the pretend drive-bys.

LOL exactly why i refuse to bother going on the weekend. I'm hoping itll be dead tomorrow. It was very frustrating last year having ppl literally bump into me while taking pictures or see me taking a pic and just stare into the lens and walk in front of me

Show was meh, a lil disappointed that there was no STi. Scion was whack, no tons free swag like past couple years. Not even any posters, very uptight this year. Retarded economy... :(
