Is it possible to take the headlights apart to get rid of the yellow side reflector?

This is an 09 LB. If I can take the headlight apart I would cover the yellow reflector with thin one way mirror film , then when the bulb is on the color will show thru. Just wasn't sure if the headlight comes apart to bother with pulling one off the car.

Just a note, you may want to check your local laws as some states require reflectors in that location...don't ask me how I know this (it was prior to my getting a Yaris)...

Here is the law in Texas...

Sec. 547.353. COLOR REQUIREMENTS. (a) A clearance lamp, identification lamp, side marker lamp, or reflector mounted on the front, on the side near the front, or in the center of the vehicle must be or reflect amber. (Source (http://www.statutes.legis.state.tx.us/DocViewer.aspx?K2DocKey=odbc%3a%2f%2fSOTW%2fASUPUB LIC.dbo.vwSOTW%2fTN%2fS%2fTN.547%40SOTW&QueryText=reflector&HighlightType=1))

I wonder why they make this a law when not all vehicles come with reflectors in the headlights.

If there is no reflector in the headlight, or tails, there will be some other reflective device usually incorporated into the bumper.

Exactly correct, on my Jeep the front side marker light is integrated into the fender flare, and in the back the reflector is a part of the tail light. When people replace either of these components, they have to makeshift a replacement light or reflector...

But on my last car I replaced the amber corner lights with white reflectors and it was "noted" that they didn't "reflect amber" per the law...

Seems like a bogus law to me. I can understand why the rear tail lights should be red reflective. But if the front signals are replaced with a amber bulb so they flash amber. I dont see why it should matter if it dosnt reflect amber.
