There were 150000 echo sedan and coupe on the road by 2003 only in the province of Quebec. It came out in 2000.

The echo hatchback that came out in 2004 was supposed to be a "young people" car, targeted adolescents and young couples. But, it rather caught on very well in the older population, and everybody started buying them as daily drivers.

so when the yaris came out.. it kept going on.. Quebec is the best place to find salvage parts for Echos and Yarii. :)

echos are getting rarer now. but then, they still out numbers the amount of yaris in your city :P

I've been to NYC with my lowered echo hatchback.. It's kinda weird it did not catch any attentions... seriously nobody came up to me wondering what car it was..

I'd love to buy another one like that again..

If Montreal is Yaris City, then Puerto Rico is Echo/Yaris Island, lol.

Now that's a spot where there's a lot of (not to mention a lot of AE86's too!).

I read that there were only 48,000 Echos sold in the U.S., total.

I'm sure a lot of islands in the world are bigger but i didnt get the impression the topic was to be a comparison about whos island is bigger. If it was i think Greenland or Australia would win the contest.

lighten up  geez are you ever positive and happy? I didnt think my respose was negative,if it came across that way, my bad.I was just pointing out to treyz that we would both lose a "my islands bigger than yours" match, however some of my other posts can be called the rantings of a cynical grumpy old man probably due to losing my sense of humor as i drift into my mid 60's.If you want to drop by with a case of beer it might cheer me up.

It just went that way in discussion because Montreal seems to be in comparision with PR in Yarii on the islands so it really wasn't going too off topic.

And although PR is my original home island, I now live on Long Island, NY where i rarely see any hatches at all lol.

Oh and jambo101, what's your address so I can send over the beer?

Crazy, I actually don't see many yaris here. I have been looking out, but maybe I miss them. I see quite a few PT Cruisers.. I can only recognize the 'different' looking cars though when i'm driving around lol. Only hatchback yaris I remember seeing was one white one before I got mine. I don't know if I've seen any sedans, other than one that parks at my work, but I only recognize it because I slowly walk past it and have time to study it lol.
