Hey Thomas,

I wory about what's going on over there too. My company does work for the Royal Thai Air Force and instability means that the military could be called in against their own civilians. That's never good.

Well as you know things got heated up between the supporters of the ousted former Prime Corruptor, sorry I mean Prime Minister, and the current government... Who knows what they tried to accomplish... Thankfully it did not resort to toooo much violence and bloodshed was minimal... Now the protesters have packed up and left so things are pretty much back to normal but who knows how long it'll last...

Gene, it's nothing personal, it's not that we're brainwashed Obama-zombies as a whole, just that it's a kind of an unspoken rule that we should avoid political discussions here as they invariably lead to fights and clashes between members, bringing down the whole atmosphere of the forum. So, thanks for the post, the facts there are really interesting, but this car forum is hardly the best place for it.

You'll notice we are closing the threads, not deleting them, so they can still be viewed by the public.

^there's a member that goes by the name of Gene that is picking fights with Obama supporters on this site, causing whatever thread he uses for this purpose to be closed. I was one of them, and it's just not fun or appropriate.

Don't flame Gene- It seems that you Obamanoids can rant all you want on bush, but turn the tables and it seems that you want the mods to bail you out- typical obama socialist

Gene hardly picks fights. He presents facts and a different point of view. Just because it isn't someone elses doesn't make it wrong or out to start a fight.

If you don't like people in your face don't get in their face. Nobody asked you to play Netcop. You took it upon yourself to complain AFTER a few other people climbed about the political train, especially one Moderator who should know better. Since you like Obama maybe you need to step up and say, "Hey, cool it! Let's not get the rest here upset" instead of interjecting your bias onto others.

I'm a bit ticked about the bowing incident. No American President should ever bow to anyone. I don't care if Prince Bandar shits money all over the District of Columbia and Obama is a bit of a tyro. I am also angry that the Obama Administration decided to lie about the whole incident. I'd respect him - as I respect him for keeping it cool while the Pirates were waiting to be shot in the Indian Ocean - if he either ignored the incident or said, "I screwed up. Nobody died. No big deal".

I can respect anyone who says, "I screwed up" and then takes measures not to repeat the mistake. Lord knows that the previous occupant of the White House made tons of mistakes and sometimes made up facts. However friends, why would anyone in their right minds allow any of their staff to launch a trial balloon about "he didn't bow" when the camera shows the man bowing?

As far as the man bowing - our Moderator Charles seems to feel it's not a big deal - why didn't Obama bow to the Queen of England too? She's shorter than him, isn't she?

Whatever... it's not a big deal. Not as big of a deal as a trillion dollar annual deficit, irrational environmental regulations that benefit big business and ramming democratic socialism down the throat of a nation that can't pay its bills.

Giant HMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!

It's a fair point, Bob.

Probably our Moderator staff feels that Thai politics are not as... controversial as the current donnybrook between the GOP, the TEA people and our Masters in DC.

Guys, give it a rest. It was just uncleyaris wanting Thomas to keep safe.

And no opinions were given in this post, just the facts about Thailand's current state.

Ryan, I wish Thomas nothing but the best, and in the short time I've known him, I've come to respect him as a person and a mod. I also realize what Uncleyaris meant when he wished him safety, as do I.
My original post in "Don't Mess with (The Republic of) Texas" was a paste (my first mistake-pasting is evil) of a report I read on another website. I found the story interesting- as someone who is interested in alternative history, the scenario of the US never forming, fracturing after forming, or taking a different historical path is practically the basis of the genre. Go to the thread if you want to see the response I received.
Gene later "reposted" the thread and Thomas closed that thread, saying that politics has no place in a car forum. (see thread for the actual comment). I remembered this thread, reread it and found it "interesting", hence the "giant HMMMMMM".
I have tried to not post inflammatory political threads- yes I do realize it brings the room down. I will not, however, idly sit by and not respond to a post like Maddogs Bush rant. I'm not a big Bush fan, however he is far from "The Worst President Ever" (google Presidential rankings). I will stand up for My Country, I will stand up for things I believe in. I do not like the direction of the Country, I do not like the choice of leadership. I spoke of patience and not judging the leadership after the election. It hasn't been very long, and the amount of "issues" has built up so as not to be ignored. I am not blinded by the media or the Obamanoids. I will defend my views as someone else will attack them. This is not instigation. This is dissent. This country was founded on dissent. I am not alone here on Yarisworld, just as bobby and others were not alone a year ago.
I hope that you have a good night, I hope that Thomas is safe, I know that Charles is not a racist, and i hope that Yarisworld remains a place where discussion on Yarii (95% of the site) and Off Topic stuff (remaining 5%) remains free and uncensored

In summary: I'm fine, ALL politics and politicians suck, end of story.
