Just picked up my new car yesterday! 2009 Yaris 5dr in black. Super excited, it's quite a change from my last car but I'm already loving it :) I'm currently getting an sound deading undercoating put on today (the shop that does the job does an excelling job for them and I managed a $100 discount on the $400 service). I have already driven the car on the highway and will be able to post some results on how effective the coating is hopefully tomorrow ;)

Hmm for the price of 400 dollars i thikn you would have better value for your money if you were to just dynomat the entire interior.

I initially rejected the undercoating knowing all to well they're usually not worth it. The dealership was actually not pushy at all with these extras and the finance manager said he had it done to his 09 yaris after a month of driving without it (wasnt his intent to wait that long but thats another story). He said the undercoating was a HUGE difference in road noise. I said i would take it under consideration, asked if they had a vehichle with it on nearby and they pointed me to a 1/4 tonne pickup truck. The job on the truck was EXCELLENT (even, no overspray, critical items taped off etc.)

The Verdict?

-I actually paid < $300 canadian for the undecoating. I'm sure they made a large markup still on that however they provided me with a courtesy car and I didn't have to deal with the hassle of waiting for a shop to do it and possibly not having a vehicle while it dried.
-They did an EXCELLENT job on the coating(I actually crawled under and did a thorough inspection as well).
-Road noise has been reduced considerably! I wasn't expecting much, just a little reduction and it actually exceeded my expectations :)
-Dynomat is EXPENSIVE to do thoroughly, and is also a very time consuming job. I am considering dynomatting the door panels at a later date, but honestly right now the car sounds just fine for me.
