Don't use Flat paint...use satin. The reason is that the FLAT black will turn grey within a couple of months and it offers absolutely no protection to the black you just painted. At least with the SATIN you get the least amount of shine plus it stays black and it protects the black you just painted. Trust me I know what I'm talking about I use to work in the paint department for Home Depot and I have personally experienced using both flat and satin rattle cans on car stuff. Other than that....it looks good.

Flat= a bitch to clean
Satin= easy to clean

Maybe on body parts, but its pretty much the opposite for wheels. Brake dust shows up on satin, and doesn't show up on flat black.

I didn't paint the wheels but I did put the hub caps in the dishwasher to clean them before painting. This made them nice and clean and they had a nice lemon scent.

Beautiful, the flat black matches the outside trim in front of the side view mirror.

I've never liked black wheels, but I have to admit those black hubcaps look pretty darn good! Very nice job.

Great mod! Just you need to paint the door handles of black.

If you wax those , the color will last longer and be easy to clean

Wow good job! I had mine painted gunmetal. They will do until rims come in. =P

But I agree, a very easy, effective, and cheap mod.

Looks great, I did mine last Summer and they are still holding up great...well except for the one my fiance' scraped on the curb :( One thing I did different though is take the yota emblem off so it would stay chrome colored...gives it a little flare in my mind. Its real easy, all you need is a solder iron and melt the plastic away from the back!

I removed them with a diagonal cutter. If you snip the black glue off they come right off.

Did you guys sand them or primer at all? Or did you just clean them really good and paint over the silver that was already there? I really want to do this!
