I've switched my 08 Head unit for an 09 Scion pioneer unit (the basic version, not the "premium" Pioneer, and the AUX jack is no longer functioning. The pinout for the Scion is clearly different from the Toyota HU, but I can't find that info so I can change the wires in the plug behind the radio. Anyone have this info?

how clearly different is it ? If speakers are operating properly and unit is powering up, it's the same wiring pinout. (toyota never changed its audio wiring since 1985)

if you can't pluging your aux port or you can't find what to push to activate the aux input, changes your HU does not have an aux port. A picture would help btw, because i still don't know which one you are talking about.

There should be an Aux button if aux is supported..

This should help.

Someone posted a DIY a while back (sorry, long day and I'm too lazy to search myself) on hooking the stock jack up to a new stereo, and found out that you don't need to wire the AUXO/I into the new unit. Left, Right, and Ground will do.

Good luck!

Thanks. Its a Scion 09 HU with an AUX/ipod button, so I'm positive it is designed for the aux. Having read Scion forums, I see that Scion and Toyota stereos have different pin configurations for the factory aux plug-in. I'm hunting for a wrecked Scion to pilfer the console plugs from, so I'll have both the aux and the ipod port. If I don't find one, I'll rearrange the pins on the plug that goes into the back of the HU, since its the same plug, just different pinout. I'l post an update when its figured out.
