Next SoCal autocross event is Sunday May 3rd. For those noobs who aren't sure what to do, PM me if you think you'll attend and I send you instructions.

We can all meet somewhere near the race track in Pomona and then all come in together. Here's a list of the fees:

Online registration entry $30 (don't know if you can do this if you're not already an SCCA member)
Day of competition onsite entry $40
Juniors & Students 24 and younger with current student ID $15
X-Runs $25

All entrants MUST BE SCCA members. Non-members can purchase an SCCA weekend membership at the event for $15 BEFORE going to registration. Those purchasing a weekend membership will receive a credit of $15 toward the purchase of a yearly SCCA membership.

Work is required.

I'll bring two helmets (X-Large) but they'll have helmets to loan if you don't have one. Bring a head sock or something to cover your head if you borrow one their helmets because they look like 100 people have been sweating in them.

Yep

I'll come show some yaris love, but I just can't swing the entrance fees right now.

as far as I know there are no "spectators" at SCCA events, due to insurance policy vocabulary I think you fall into the "pit crew" category  (could be wrong, but either way pit crew sounds better imo)

Morgan, here in the SoCal region, in order to enter the venue we have to sign a document that nobody reads and then they put a wristband on us. I'm guessing we sign our life away and they don't care what we do so long as we don't hurt someone else.

Then when drivers pay their fees, they get another wristband.

BTW, do you have a permanent number? Mine's 425 in this region. I had to join one of the clubs to get the permanent number. My club is called No$ cause there's no fee and we don't have meetings.

ah, well for our region the safety person always referred to everyone at the event as pit crew for every competitor so I asked him what was up with "pit crew" and thats what he told me.

I never run into any problems with permanent numbers, I usually tend to be the only yaris at the event  No one in our region really uses numbers anyway unless they have a suby, miata or 350z

The people in our region are really competitive and race for the trophies and then the regional and national championships. At my last race, by the time I got to the finish, I could feel this guy breathing down my neck. I had to ask the flagman to give more time between my launch and the next guy's. The flagman laughed and said "Ok, cause you've got a former national champ behind ya".

No wonder he was flashing his lights and wanting to pass on the slaloms.

I want to do some non-solo II events sometime, we have a very limited automotive culture here.... Nascar and 1/4 dragstrips :frown: boo on both accounts

Here's the closest thing to you that sound like what you are looking for. It's not really close but I'll check Georgia and Alabama next.

yeah this area is pretty dry, but 5 hours is far more do-able than 8 or 9 for a single event - open track days could be a possibility

I just sent you an AIM chat invite but my request was rejected.:frown:

Still contemplating if I'll go. I'll be at my sister's in Fontana that evening, so I might swing by earlier for a little while as a spectator to see how it works

krayzee... this will be easy. We meet at that the track at 7:00 and you are done by noontime. This way, you'll really have someting to talk about when you're at your sister's that evening.

after your runs you have to work the course, meaning you have to stand out there and put the knocked over cones back up....

Theo, are the Versa guys coming out next weekend? Jesus and I will probably run in HS. I'll only do time only runs cause I'm not supposed to run HS. We'd love to see you guys out there.

it's not the built motor, Long -- we are testing and tuning on the stock block. So I don't mind beating up on it a little.

But I don't wanna talk to my sister jk lol. Yeah that time slot shouldn't be a problem. See ya then, Long.
