View Full Version : Just finished DIY NF210 but have question about the gap ....

Hi,
I just finished installing NF210 but i have about 1/4" space between the top cap and car body (top of the strut tower).
Is this a problem?

Put up a pic. I think this is something that many have questioned, and seems to be normal.

I Just don't see how this can be OK.
The strut assembly is not really bolt on to the car if there is this gap there.
???

Looks like you may have to tighten the top of the strut mount bolt a bit.

The first nut (below the cap) is already tighten. The second nut (above the cap) also tighten and wil not go down any more.

No, it's fine, actually. If you jack the car up, you'll notice that the gap goes away. I took my car to the local performance shop, and they said it's just the result of having lowered the car. No problem.

Btw, I'd put the little rubber cap back on if I were you...

Yep mine look like that too, no problems. I have trd springs

why don't mine look like that then? i have the tokico's and df210's. is it just some setups cause this gap and some don't?

yeah, sorry, i meant the struts. tokico struts and df210 springs.

Tokico HP shocks/struts are upgraded "performance" based to make handling stiffer. It is designed also for lowered applications. As in if you put lowering springs on, these things go great with them because they help stop the "spongey" feel and help from rubbing, etc.

ok well i knew that i just didn't know if that was the reason there was no gap after putting these and the springs on. not that i'm complaining. the gap would bother me.

Yes, it's kind of bother me too.
I also cut the bump stop by 1.1"
May be I will put in hard rubber gasket into the gap?

I don't think there should be a gap there. Mine didn't have it. Are you sure the spring is right side up?

I jacked up the passenger side of the car and took more pics.
Just like mrbond said above.
The passsenger side has no gap when the wheel is up
The driver side still has gap because the wheel is on the ground.
