why would it matter? especially since this car is purchased in such great quantities?

ask him how any times he has had to take his car to the shop so far?

Relax, I'm sure the Ford guy was just joking around as a friend (like it says). All you gotta do is playfully fire back and enjoy the laughs...

The rule is that the larger the car and the tires, the smaller the you-know-what. When I pull up to a guy in a huge v8 truck with 3-foot-tall knobby tires, I know who is the bigger man when the clothes come flying off. :) A secure man can drive a Yaris and be content. If some guy looks at my car and scoffs, I give him a knowing wink. "Don't worry buddy. If you rev that engine loudly, nobody will look at your pants."

All the gay people I know (and I lived in Olympia, Washingto where there are as many gay people as there are straight), gay people drive VW Bugs, Miata's, slow pickup trucks, and Ford Focus's. That list is a list that gay people made to hide themselves by making people look for every other car on the market.

Mazda 3 = Ford Focus.

eric81
04-28-2009, 12:05 AM
Mazda 3's are nice cars. I almost bought a speed 3 two years ago, but the price was just a little high for my budget. The focus is a P.O.S. My mom got the showroom ZTS with all the bells and whistles, and it still lacks a lot. The 2,3, and 5 models blow, so don't try to even begin to defend them. Drove several, and not a one has any power to speak of. That is why Ford is selling a stock supercharger right out of the factory for it. The Yaris's is at least true aftermarket, and not just the main company saying "Man, our car REALLY sucks. We should do something before no one buys it." So, no love for the Focus from me, sorry.

speaking of being gay i actually had someone key the words "i am gay" into the passenger side door of my '07 yaris sedan. i mean it was huge too. the whole door. i always thought that was an odd thing to key into someone's car cause if i was in fact gay, then how would that have hurt my feelings. and i'm pretty sure whoever it was knew i wasn't gay so now it's just plain inaccurate so yeah... i didn't understand that logic.

on a side note many guys have mistakenly thought i was gay. many of those same guys lost their girlfriends to me so idk, i think having "gay" personality traits has its advantages. so i like fruity drinks, cute cars, and i'll actually listen to a woman when she is talking... sue me.

That's specious reasoning. If the majority of people in America bought Yari, then by that fact, the majority of gays would buy them. Perhaps the ratio of gays to straights might be skewed towards gay ownership, but that is most likely because Yaris owners are comfortable with their sexual orientation, whatever it may be. Gays by the definition of the gaywheels.com's survey are comfortable in their orientation. Personally, I don't need a giant pickup truck/SUV or a loud ass V8 engine to prove my manhood. I would love to have a bunch of bumper stickers printed up that say "Sorry about your penis size, man." and stick them on various large vehicles.:bellyroll::laugh::bellyroll:

I heard that the Yaris is a popular car on some online search engines that cater to gays. Not sure about who buys one. I live up the street from a gay couple. One drives a Matrix, the other a big Pickup.

I've worked with quite a few gay ladies. They seem to like pickup trucks, bikes and larger vehicles.

About the only car I've heard which is "gay" friendly is the Subaru Outback, perhaps because of its spokesperson, Martina Navratilova.

The Mini Cooper is annoyingly small to some, but simply irresistible to others. The cult classic from the BMW group means fun for anyone who sits behind the wheel (and passengers too).

Only person who drives one of these at work is around thirty, goth pale, dark hair, blue eyes... and is a mother of two. She has an awful drinking habit and a "rep". Maybe she could be a "twink", dunno.

so, my friend with a focus svt just called me to rag on me about some stats he read. supposedly, the yaris is in the top 15 cars that homosexuals buy. Really?

Could be worse. You could have bought a Chevy Avalanche. They call it a chick truck for a good reason. Most are sold to Women buyers in the Bay Area in Cali.

Boy did GM waste the Ad dollars on that one. Miss-targeted the demographic completely

Guess what, guys? We're all just people. I happen to be Gay. But I've been very happily single, and involved with other interests and causes for a very long time. (Not the least of which are my advocacy of Open Source software, and love of travel.) No "boyfriends" or other distractions, these days. Just me... studying the things I want to study, and doing the things I want to do. Hormones are both a blessing and a burden. "Just take care of the burden and get on with life" is my current motto.

I really don't see any particular attraction the Yaris might hold for us Gay folks, in general. I certainly like the car. But that's because impressive efficiency, combined with (relative) simplicity, holds a special fascination for me. And believe me, that's not a "Gay" trait. I'm happy to find *anyone* who shares my admiration of that combination. And when I do, I don't particularly care who they're interested in sexually... if anyone.

Well said. The reason I bought my Yaris was for the overall "green-ness" of the car. I dont think a car can be or look gay, but if people want to classify the yaris as a car gays want, then oh well. We will probably have our cars way longer. :)

The Yaris is gay? Oh, OK. That explains its superior sense of style over its competitors.

then look at what's in their passenger seat. Their smile quickly turns to a frown :D
Reminds me of the time I was traveling through Catoosa Oklahoma with my friend Dennis. Like me, he was a dog lover... but even worse. He spied what he thought was a Chinese Sharpei dog:

sitting in the passenger seat of the truck driven by the guy ahead of us on the highway. So, of course, we had to accelerate to get a better look. Turned out it wasn't a dog at all. It was the guy's wife. A little on the overweight side...

I'd say that the thread has been good and beneficial. We're almost certainly doing better than the Israelites and Palestinians right now. We're communicating, I think. :-)
