MyFox National Reports
TAMPA, Fla. -

Like most kids, Eliso Tovar loves video games. So his mom, Tamatha, bought him a PlayStation Portable for a late Christmas present at a Wal-Mart in Manatee County, Fla. What happened next would shock the entire family.

Saturday, when the 6-year-old boy turned on the PSP for the first time, he said a naked woman appeared on the screen saver. Afraid he would be grounded, Eliso ran to his mom crying.

Tamatha said she found a memory card inside the PSP containing hundreds of pornographic pictures. She claimed it's not hers and it was in the PSP before she opened the box.

She then called the store wanting to speak with a manager about the problem. "I explained the situation and his response was, 'well, bring the machine down and we'll let your son pick out a new game,'" she said. "And I was like, no I don't think you heard what I said."

A spokesperson for Wal-Mart said they're concerned about the situation and are looking into what happened. Tamatha says she wants a new PSP and an apology.

lol....
Porn on psp... This is what I was actually wondering a couple of days ago... when places like EB sell used PSx/XBOX consoles; do they really check for the old material...
Looks like "NO"

I work at GameStop and I could see this being possible at a store like mine but not a walmart. when we get a system traded in especially A PSP we always restart it to factory defaults. But it would be a lit to say it always gets done to every PSP in every gamestop. My bet is the naked pics were put on after she got the PSP.

Just saw a story today about a kid getting one of those new nintendo dsi systems as a birthday gift. when he opened it, all that was inside was a rolled up piece of chinese languaged newspaper and a bunch of rocks. The mom and young son were definately upset from it. They got a new dsi and a $20 gift card out of it.

Seems like since Wal-Mart is the king of importing goods from China (way to be American, wal-mart!), I'd imagine that is where these game system thefts and nudity problems are stemming from.

I'm betting because of the extremely RELAXED return policy at wal-mart that the psp was returned like that and placed back on the shelf as is most everything that is still considered sellable.
(at the home office they have a museum and part of the museum is dedicated to their strangest returns)

Did anyone notice that both the PSP and DS incident occurred in Florida? Hmmm....interesting.

^^^
Thats more than likely what happened.

Someone had the PSP, then returned it after some use...Forgot to either replace their memory stick with the OE stick, or they just forgot to delete to porn. Hence why walmart just resealed and resold the PSP, not checking contents on the card. (This would be due to the person returned it, prolly claimed they got another one as a gift or whatever lame excuse) So...johnny boy finds the porn, mom gets mad, eventually this will end in some kind of stupid claims court over some kind of damages that johnny boy recieved from being exposed to pornographic material against his will (Even though he probably has a list of his favorites sites, lol)
