Okay, well, I was driving back to the Bay from Sacramento today. I was passing through Vacaville and chugging along in the third lane doing 60mph, when a black non MR EVO VIII with an exhaust (canister style), dark tint all the way around, and a BOV passes me doing about 65-70 mph. Driver slows down, and matches my speed right next to me in the slow lane. He gases it enough to set off the BOV. I mind my own business and don't respond. He does it two more times. I finally look (not like I can see anything) and it's raining. Anyway, I ignore the challenge, and keep chugging along. Next thing I know is the driver lowers his window partially and gives me a thumbs down, and exits...anyway, I would think EVO owners know about cars, so I would think the driver would have known that he has almost 3 times as much hp as our cars, and is AWD compared to FWD. So why would he even challenge me in the first place? I would have gotten my ass kicked from the get-go. It was also raining, and I don't street race anyway.

hahaha ... most evo and sti owners don't know krud about cars ... they just buy the car because it's AWD and it stock turbo and etc ... they swear like they are the fastest cars on the face of the earth ... its all about the drivers, i'm pretty positive with the right suspension setup, you can whoop on any evo/sti in a touge battle, just not in the straight lines ... HAHA

I wouldn't even worry about it. Let the little penis baby have his bottle
IMO you've earn the right to return the  (possibly with a bird up) when you see him on the side of the road standing next to his totaled "Tokyo Drift" Evo, which should be quite soon with the way he's acting...

I hate people like that. People here in OK are all like that. If they have something fast they'll challenge anything at a stop light and anything that looks cool driving except the other fast cars. You never see Corvettes racing Sti's or anything interesting like that just Ridiculous Mustangs raping Hondas...

Exactly, most of those guys are "compensating;" and anyone who would "challenge" a Yaris must be completely dickless!
I would've returned the 'thumbs down' with a http://www.flyingsquadron.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/flipoff.gif, and ya did the right thing but not succumbing to the taunt.
Oh, and I think I've told you before, but your car does look sharp! I am sure it was more jealousy than anything else that bruised his little ego, your car is so much better looking that his...hence the "challenge" to restore his little "pride"...

come to think of it... he might have seen the vortex generator and thought since you wanted to be an Evo, you'd want to race against one

He probably lost a race to another Yaris previously, because he doesn't know how to shift properly.

Garm, you really need to quit pissing off the Evo community...
Just another Dickhead with an Evo/STI that thinks they are hot stuff...
I promise you he would never do the same to a Mustang GT/Cobra, Pontiac GTO, probably wont even race other 4cyl turbos (SRT-4,Mazdaspeed3's)

 for not racing (which would have been pointless anyway).
It's one of things I like about myself ever since buying my Yaris - not driving like an idiot!! It's funny what it does to your driving style when you only have 106 ponies or so. I'm sure it's also true with most of you but I enjoy just being a conservative safe driver now and getting my 40 mpg.
My previous car was a '93 [Lexus] SC400 (250 hp V-8). Let's just say when you have that kind of power, it turns on the aggression and you do stupid things.
I like driving the Yaris with nothing to prove. Anyone with a brain should know that and this guy in the EVO is an idiot for thinking you would race him.
That's like someone in a Porsche pulling alongside a Camry and wanting to race.

I like ignoring challenges, especially from ones that make no sense. I had a guy in a 1995 Jeep Cherokee wanting to race. I mean really, Fast and the Furious movies really mess with peoples heads...

Yeah, blow the idiot a big, sloppy kiss; they really don't know how to react to that. Also, when some guy blasts away from a stoplight, I always give him a big round of applause at the next light; works better when there are other people in your car to join in...
I like to catch up to these guys at a stoplight, rev the motor, pop ahead a bit, concentrate on the light... they read this as, "the race is ON". Light goes green, they stand on it. I turn right (or left)...

I won't do stop-light races (no point, really, unless it's a Yugo) but I do love having some a%%hole crawl up my tail befor an off-ramp or a nice twisty, trying to push me faster down the highway, only to have him chicken out when I don't slow down for the curve
I won't race the douches, but it's fun to watch them recede in the mirror.

Probably recall my rant about that racer who decided it would be fun to pull into my lane? I don't know if it's because we're confused with FITs or CRXs or what have you.
BTW, lots of sleepers out there. Who knows what someone is going to shoe horn under the hood of a Yaris some day?

Seriously. One of the main reasons why I bought a Yaris was because of the fuel efficiency, not the performance.

I'll find it sad if a person thinks a car with VG's on its roof is trying to be a baby EVO...I mean, the EVO isn't the only car that comes with them:

Come to the Golden Mile in hanover pa, on a friday night once sun sets if you want to see some real douchbags. This is illegal street race night in my town. My one friend beat a Sentra in a race, the next night the beaten car and 4 of his buddies ran my friend off the road cornered him in parking lot and threatened him with basball bats. Every friday is streetracing, people getting caught losing their lisences, but hella nice cars. Also hella douchebags and shit cars. And also alot of big ass diesel trucks with cowboys have been out lately. O and some fine ass ladies.

After reading the first post, man, I feel for you. I get that in my LB, which really, it doesn't even look fast. I've done modifications to, perhaps, make it look more aggressive, and defiantly to make it handle better, but yeah, in a straight line down a highway, there is really so much a 106 hp vvti can do.
You have to be an idiot to grab a 300 hp AWD car and go pick on econoboxes.
