Thanks kargoboy for the intake!! I ran into some fitment issues,
but resolved all of them with some patience and time  I
don't think this intake was made to fit 09s, but I MADE it fit lol.
Comments welcomed, good or bad.

I got this intake too in my 07, but I agree the design it is not optimized for that tight space... I need to get a Braille in there in order to solve the issue I'm getting now.

Is the battery in the way or something?? I'm just wondering if the Asian arrangement of the
Yaris' engine bay (particularly Taiwan) has either a smaller battery or it's placement is slightly different?
The pics on the Simota website show everything in the same place that I can tell...
Let me know, Simota is always open to comments and suggestions.

Battery was in the way a little bit. I had to move the brace that holds the battery in a little to the left, and take off the pipe that connects to the intake just to fit the whole thing into the car. I didn't want to remove the battery because my key is integrated with my stock remote for my alarm and I would have to reprogram it again PITA.
**So I'm thinking that the battery is probably smaller, than the ones made for US cars. It's ok though because I'm probably going to pick up a braille battery to open up some space.

I installed it about a year ago. One of my favorite pieces in the car. Great sound and mild increase in hp.
The issue I'm having has to do with some rubbing due to the big battery being in contact all the time. I'm gonna have to take out the intake and get all the scratches out of the clearcoat once I get the new battery.

Thanks for the comments, the only thing I could think of was the battery, too.

Here's a picture of my (dirty) engine bay. The rubbing areas make the intake twist a bit towards the fan, which I guess is actually not so bad? :iono:
Also, the steel base could be a bit shorter to avoid further rubbing at the front:

yeah for those two parts i put some padding to cushion the intake a little. perhaps
buy a braille battery too ? i'd highly recommend putting some sort of padding though.

That is correct, one left only. I have more stuff coming from Simota
soon but this is it for the CF intakes for a long time. They are really nice
but not cheap.

can you "hear the difference" lol, i can't really tell in the videos. while i'm driving, i hear more of a lower sound coming from the intake. certainly different from the weapon-r sri i had in my tc.
