Hey everyone. I've been megabusy lately and not been on YW :frown:

Missed you all. Well most of you anyway

I've been on holiday recently with my wife to Auckland, New Zealand for her birthday. It was a break that was well overdue. I can say this year has been a big year for me.

Things done this year:-
Holiday to USA
Packed up all belongings
Bought a house
Holiday to New Zealand

But the highlight of my year so far is our new family member.

We bought a............................

No, not a baby. Well sort of. We bought a puppy.

Here he is

He's name is Merlin and he's an 8 week old pug puppy. Cute as hell and both my wife and I love him like a child.

What do you all think?

Looks like it ran into a wall.....
Actually, pugs are the ONLY flat-face dog that can really get away with this look, IMO. But we've always been Lab/Golden people, so the pugs still look squished

Pugs are the friendly jesters of the dog world. I lived with a young lady who had... six of them. When they were together they milled around, grunting and snuffling and doing odd Pug like things.

They are friendly but have a temper. Especially dominant females and males. I've watched them latch on to one another like bulldogs and drag one another around by their jowls. I've also watched them do odd things like eat the table cloth, vegetables (they loved steamed Kale), pet birds (she lost three parakeets before she quit getting any more) and the usual dog things like, well, Kitty Litter.

Pugs tend to have respiratory problems and are prone to odd eye infections that make their eyes swell up to twice their normal size. They're not the smartest dog but they're, well, they're characters.

My favorite way to greet one is to make a grunting noise. They recognize this immediately.

I wanted a Lab, but due to a not so large backyard i thought it would be too cruel to keep such a big dog in not a big space. Pug was our second choice, but they are a great breed.

We also have a pug. Here he is  :

FYI: We're not people who dress him every day like that, this happened only twice. Once at my sister's wedding (no, not with the dog ) and once at a fotoshoot for a restaurant's advertisement.

Definitely a great breed. our #2 grqand-daughter, Issie, has a crush on Pugs (she's just turning 3) and calls them all Jojo. Must have been a movie I missed, I guess. :iono:
