Hello,
So I read many asking about lock conversion with the kits from A1. But I want to buy the parts from toyota (I know it might be expensive but I get big discount) and was wondering if anyone knows everything needed to do it?
I also read that even the base model has the harnesses and just need to mount&plug&play. True?
I cant seem to find part numbers or what parts needed after days of serching.

With the 09's it seems that everything is pre-wired.
Here's what I believe is required:
Lock Assembly, Front Door W/Motor, RH: 69030-52470
Lock Assembly, Front Door W/Motor, LH: 69040-47060
If your's is a 5 door:
Lock Assembly, Rear Door W/Motor, RH: 69050-52190
Lock Assembly, Rear Door W/Motor, LH: 69060-52200
Actuator Assembly, Back Door Lock: 69150-52070
Mounting Bolts: 91511-B0614 (2 required)
Switch Assy, Door Control: 84930-52050 (Center console switch)

you also need the power lock control module...
for the LB, i believe it is located behind the cluster, could you find out the part number?

That's just if you want keyless entry as well, as the ECM controls the power locks itself:
Door Control Receiver (with 2 wireless keys): 89741-52390

Are you serious ?
dang, the powerdoor locks in the echo needed a 500$ relay control box....

My guess is that you are looking at over $1200 when you can get basically the same thing for $100 at A1

That's mighty close to correct:
List prices:
Door lock assemblies: $291 each (x2 or 4)
Hatch actuator : $105
Door control receiver: $421

^But I hear that some people had problems with it over time breaking the cable. But on the other hand I heard it works fine for a long time with no problems.
Also the Shop wont touch aftermarket locks becuase they also said over time it will damage it. Im not that good at electrical work, but heard it very easy to do.

^ i was just mighty lucky to be able to get all the parts from a salvaged echo when i did the conversion of mine (when i still had an echo)
The guy who sold me all the parts that i needed, bought the whole crashed car. It flipped on its top, so no doors were in condition to be sold.
Junk yards usually throw away those doors pretty quick. They will never part out those that can be sold as a whole.
My best bet is find a totaled one for 1000-2000$ (find an S or one with power package!!) So you probably also can get the power windows at the same time :)
The rest, you part out, and try to sell...
BTW, if you find an S for 2000$ or less... You'd probably get a pretty good deal, considering you'd also have the 40/60 sliding rear seats (so 09 have them on all trims??), power locks and power windows.. All that is probably worth the 2000$ lol
and then, there's all the chrome parts and the leather steering wheel...

Im thinking about picking up the A1 kit, but just worried that it will snap the cable.

If mine didn't come with the power package I would have gone the A1 kit route. I would connect a stiff spring between the actuator and the cable to act as a shock absorber.

the A1 kit shouldn't snap the cable. Just grease well the part of the cable that is exposed. And make sure the motor is well sealed.. no water should get in, or you'd find yourself with a jammed motor.

Just install it correctly and it wont happen. All of the cases that you hear about cables breaking are caused by the parts not being installed correctly or the installer used a regular kit and tried to modify it to fit the cable style.
