I'm getting ready to pull my steering wheel to install the OEM cruise control and fog light stalks, so I figured I'd upgrade to the leather steering wheel while I had everything apart so I don't have to pull it again later.

Will this steering wheel: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=260393330695&_trksid=p2759.l1259#ebayphotohosting fit the 09' Yaris LB? Will the Yaris' air bag mount up to this wheel? I wasn't able to find any info at TRDSparks or toyodiy.com so I'm hoping someone here can help me.

i assume the wheel on the 09 is the same as earlier models but a bit back in the DIY section it had a tutorial w/ a TC sports wheel. So I assume the answer you seek is yes...

The part number for the "real" Yaris one is:

'06-'09 45100-52331-B0

The part number for that ebay TC one is: 45100-21091-B0

In the EPC, the 05 TC one looks the same, but from the line drawings it's mighty hard to tell.

I was hoping for a solid color rather than the two-tone. I had an 07 Scion tC with the solid gray leather wheel and I'd like to get the same one for this car. I'm curious since the tC wheel I had came with steering wheel controls for the radio: Did your Yaris airbag fit correctly on this wheel? Do you have the part #?

I was thinking something more like this: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=190305214115&_trksid=p2759.l1259

Suggestions?

Suggestions? IIRC that steering wheel should bolt up (might take slight modifacation) but you will need to also get a scion airbag for it to fit right.

So I would have to leave the silver steering wheel control panels in place and use a Scion airbag? No chance of popping them out and using the Yaris airbag? The genuine Yaris one is sounding better and better... if I could only find one for sale.

Did your Scion one come with the silver radio control panels? Or did you get it as it looks in the pic? Did you have to use a Scion airbag or did the Yaris one fit?

As per photo , it's a direct replacement for the yaris so
you use all your yaris covers and airbag. 08460-12820 is my part number .
from memory there was a single color option as well , email Trd Sparks

From what I'm reading, I think this will work: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=190305214115&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWAX%3AIT&viewitem=

It's an 06-08 tC wheel, like yours, but it's all black instead of two-tone. Only problem is it comes with the steering wheel controls. Think I can just pop them off and put the Yaris airbag on instead?

I am real sorry , but no , this will not fit .
You need to look for Xb from memory .
here is the money request i got from TRD Sparks
$278.00 USDhttp://www.yarisworld.com/forums/mhtml:{428B0F2E-7EF5-47D0-8159-86711C6A3C1B}mid://00000165/!x-usc:http://images.paypal.com/en_US/i/scr/pixel.gifNote:http://www.yarisworld.com/forums/mhtml:{428B0F2E-7EF5-47D0-8159-86711C6A3C1B}mid://00000165/!x-usc:http://images.paypal.com/en_US/i/scr/pixel.gifThis is for the 08-09 Scion xB steering wheel 08460-12820 and shipping to NZ.

I think also the Xd will work as well , there is a thread on here some where stating what works and what won't.

Just confirmed it for you .
You are looking for a Scion 08-09 Xb or Xd leather steering wheel ,
cost on EBAY is $255.00US , but Sparks toyota is cheaper.
they are available in black just cann't put my fingers on the part number.

Thanks again. At least now I know exactly what to look for.

In the EPC, I don't see a leather option for 08 or 09 Xb or Xd (just dark grey urethane). I see the leather option (dark grey or black) for the 08 and 09 TC.

Apparently neither can TRSparks. Just got off the phone with them and was told it only comes in the urethane ($265) or two-tone leather ($223)

Just confirmed with the dealer... no solid leather for the 08-09 xB/xD, only the urethane & two-tone

I know the 08460-12820 two-tone wheel will work (thanks to 1NZYaris1), but now I'm even more confused after searching & finding this thread: http://www.yarisworld.com/forums/showthread.php?t=5831&highlight=leather+steering+wheel & this one: http://www.yarisworld.com/forums/showthread.php?t=9714&highlight=scion+steering+wheel that shows certain tC wheels will work if you remove the radio controls. I'm going out of my mind looking at steering wheels

:thumbup:There you go as long as you get a current model Tc 07-09 or Xb-Xd 07-09
You might want to also check the Rav4 07-09 range as well .

Black leather steering wheels are available just need to find one
in New Zealand they are sold as an option but the cost is high $700. NZ ($430.US)

After giving it some thought, the two-tone leather wheel really grew on me. I found one for $218 and ordered it yesterday. Thanks for all your help!
