Looks bad on a sedan, I dont think it will look good on a Yaris...

But if your really wanting to go through with it, you need to change the Yaris part to Lexus name standards.

Either LB150 or LC150

LB = Liftback
LC = Luxory Coupe

150 = Engine size 1.5L is 150, 2.5L is 250, etc.

Not so much can you as it is should you!

But to be honest, back in the 80s I remember a Mazda at the beach in Florida that was rebadged with Mercedes emblems, and it was kinda cool! It's really no different than the Vitz ones people put on!

Since Lexus is the luxury division of Toyota in the States, I say why not? Sabretooth's suggestions make sense, and I think they would have to be gold as well...

Yes, you can. I replaced front and back emblems, removed toyota and replaced it with lexus. I also replaced the wheel center caps.

Agreed...

If on the other hand you did a lot of interior overhauling for a real VIP/Luxury look and feel, then you might get away with it  ANd I'd say a YS150 badge as well (seeing as other Lexus cars are ES, IS, GS, LS...)

Otherwise it's just pretty tasteless.. I've seen Toyota minivans with Scion badges here :iono:

As for Netz/Vitz badging there's nothing wrong with that, seeing as the cars in Japan are badged this way...

I agree. Some things shouldn't be done. I did it for some laughs. I will be reverting back after I black out my toyota emblems. Maybe in a couple of days.

Please, please don't.

If you want a Lexus, you can get an older one for the same price as a Yaris.

I could see this working

-Get some nice 16 Rims, classy, sporty looking...
-Then buy some Clazzio Seat covers from Garm (Microimageonline.com), this gives that upgraded leather look and feel
-Purchase a GPS Nav Headunit for the car
-Upgrade to the JDM Taillights so it doesnt appear to be the same as a regular Yaris.
-Lexus Badges all around, with YS150/LB150/LC150 Badge

Enjoy your now 15k Lexus hatchback!

Yea, but switching to a rougher ride, doesnt help the overall comfort feel of the car. Lexus is known for comfort over performance when it comes to those who go out there and buy a IS250...

It's no different than any of the other rebadges done here IMO. If you are rebadging it then you are calling it something it never actually was therefore it's not really any different than Netz, Vitz, Belta, Vios badges... just don't halfass stick on some Lexus emblems. If you put them on in a nice way it won't look bad at all especially if you had some Lexus style wheels... And I'd call it a CS150

With all due respect, I think those badges on other cars are funnier than hell!

Did ya notice that the jab is usually towards the more pompous brands of cars (BMW, Mercedes, etc)? The kind driven by people who think they are hot shit because of the car they drive? It makes me laugh, almost anyone can spend too much money (or more likely, get a loan) and drop it on a car, which is a bad investment in the first place.

I make a considerable sum of money, but when it came time to replace the VW I owned for almost ten years, I was looking for a good commuter car which led me to the Yaris. I could have easily spent double on a car; but I don't see the point as the majority of my time is spent driving back and forth to work (a 22 mile commute each way) or running errands. The Yaris is perfect for that.

So, again I saw go for it, put Lexus emblems on your car and even get a Lexus keychain. And if it offends anyone, just tell them to get a sense of humor!

One last comment, it is funny how different people think. In Germany, it is very popular to debadge cars, and as we've seen there are people on here who repaint their badges to make them much more subtle. To each their own, but whatever makes you happy is what's important!

Cheers! M2

i frankly don't understand the desire to re-badge at all. especially in this case. i think you are just asking to be heckled. you already own a yaris and i'm sure you've been heckled for just that alone. don't make it worse by throwing a badge on that says luxury when our car is anything but.

If you really want to do it, you should. Like I posted earlier, I did it. Some people liked it and some thought it was stupid. Everyone will have their opinion but in the end, your opinion is the only one that matters.

It looks pretty good with the lexus emblems. whatever you decide to do, good luck with your yaris.

I'd have to disagree. I can understand rebadging the Yaris with the proper Japanese nameplates... especially since Toyota America decided to import two entirely different cars (Vitz and Belta) and put the Yaris nameplate on both of them. Very strange, indeed. Plus, some enthusiasts like to personalize their cars, and if putting obscure nameplates or the emblems from other models somehow makes them happy, then great.

True, but just like the thing in question, Toyota/Lexus is the same company too.

Many people have swapped out Lexus badges for Toyota ones which I think is -much more acceptable (especially since up until recently, markets outside of the US sold Lexus cars as Toyota's). Putting a Lexus badge on a Yaris is just asking for trouble.

Yes, you can. I replaced front and back emblems, removed toyota and replaced it with lexus. I also replaced the wheel center caps.

Can I ask what model you got the rear badge off of? I just want to do the back cause I have a netz badge up front and Im just gonna take off the other badges.

And cars, just like tattoo's and art, are expressions of one's self. So some people like the stuff and some people think its the stupidest thing in the world so...

Let's look at from a different angle...

Also, the LX570 is not a LandCruiser, the GX470 is not a LandCruiser, the ES350 is not a Camry, the SC430 is not a Soarer and the IS is not an Altezza.

Anyhow, the badge swap has to be either for a laugh (a bone stock 1,0 Yaris for example) or done on a tasteful top of the line model. Preferrably the first :)

Go badge-less!!!! IMO, it's very tacky to badge a car as something it's not. Don't put STi on your WRX, Don't put M3 on your 325i. You bought, if you're on here I'll assume you love it; so why make it something it's not? Lexus was created to appease the american consumer and until more recently, a Lexus was just a Toyota in Japan. If you want a Lexus go buy a damn HS The Focus of the luxury world. <--- That is the correct way to spell luxury, BTW.

^^^^ Toyota owns 20% of Subaru (Fuji Heavy Industires), so that make as much sense as a Lexus badge.

+1

I don't understand the negative comments. If someone wants to rebadge, or even paint cow spots on their Yaris, why not? It's their car, and they can mod it however they see fit.

Myself, I like the Toyota logo on my Yaris, and I have no plan to get rid of it any time soon, but I think the OP's idea is kind of funny! :iono:

Although I am against rebadging to Lexus, it is your car and you can do whatever you want with it.

Just do it right. Not too flashy, not too messy, and must blend in with the rest of the car.

Like just the other day, I saw a black Corolla rolling around the Medical Center. It was BADGED-TO-THE-MAX with TOYOTA this and TRD that. As if it wasn't annoying enough, when I glanced at the top right corner of the trunk (where it curves over to the bumper), he had a chrome VTEC badge!! No, this is not a typo. It wasn't TRD or even VVT-i, it was VTEC. I pointed, laughed, and pulled a muscle.

So please don't badge in a way that it'll make people strain muscles on the road.

........but then again, I am the guy who put "CAUTION WIDE TURNS!" in big, white, reflective letters on my hatch.

Hey, The Mercedes Smart car is fitting. They own Smart.

Mercedes owns smart, smart doesn't own Mercedes.

Toyota owns Lexus, Lexus doesn't own Toyota.

Therefore upgrading to a Toyota badge on a Lexus makes sense while upgrading to a Lexus badge on a Toyota doesn't.

It follows much of the same logic as subsets in discrete mathematics.

Also you might fool some stupid cops. They give you a ticket for your lexus. You could go to court and say judge i dont even drive this lexus model car they said i was driving. And try to get it thrown out.

When i had my 240sx coupe back in the day i debaged the rear. When i got pulled over once the cop was asking me what kind of car i had if it was some sort of honda.

back from the dead!

I would not mind a Lexus badge on a Yaris. If Toyota can do it, so can we... Personally, I would never do it on a bone stock Yaris. That's just rice. If you have upgraded it (rims, lights, lowered, tint, maybe a body kit and paint), I could see a Lexus badge working on a classy looking Yaris...

why?

I might roll a daihatsu badge on my Yaris, but I don't think I do anything someone would actually know, that would be boring.

Honestly, I still think it would be quite humorous! And heck, no one should let the opinions of others/peer pressure keep them from doing something that they really would like to do!
